Well been on a candida diet for almost a week, dying to have something sweet. Well I see all kinds of things that say sugar free but it has sugar alcohol whats the difference? and i'm sure I know the answer to the next question but is it ok to eat?

Hi Sandstone:
Sugar alcohols, although they don't produce an insulin response in many people, are not appropriate for Candida diets because candida feed on them. If you've ever had them, you probably know they cause fermentation in the stomach, a breeding ground for candida. Neither are artificial sweeteners allowed. The only thing I was allowed to eat was stevia.
Here's a link that tells about what sugar alcohols are.

Hi Sandstone:
Reality sucks, huh? ;) Maybe try to get yourself some powdered l-glutamine. It does wonders for cravings, intestinal health, as well as muscle recovery from working out.
Good luck

Make your own yoghurt, that is what I do, then it has no sugar. or buy plain yoghurt at the stor and take acidophilus capsules with it.

When I have cravings for sweets I have some sugar free jello and strawberries, and occasionally I will have a diet Orange crush (with splenda) That does the trick for me. Good Luck
