Anyone have a remedy for overeating nuts. I like to snack and unfortunately instead of snacking on meat and cheeses, which I do from time to time... I find myself over indulging in dry roasted peanuts.. If feel as if I don't eat the nuts I will be tempted to snack on forbidden foods....

the nuts keep me sane!

Peanuts are not really nuts they are legumes...they are a better choice to over indulge in than mixed nuts, etc...there are a lot of beachers who snack, sometimes too much, on peanuts...I found that having a little yogurt, cheese, deli meat, or a couple of dried apricots with the small handfull of peanuts helps me to not over induldge.

I'm havng some trouble with nuts too. I got pistachios in the shells and it takes longer to eat one ounce shelled and by the time I'm finished...I'm finished eating too!! :lol:

I also buy raw almonds, not my favorite, like cashews, but I can eat a handful and not want anymore. Now put a jar of cashews in front of me and they are gone very quickly!! No cashews in my house!! :p

I thought it was just me.. I am working on my cravings... I have to actually hide my jar and try to forget about it... LOL

I think we all need to figure out which foods trigger us to overeat and avoid those foods like the plague. These foods are best not bought in the first place.

You are definitely not alone in dealing with this!!! ;)

:hyper: on the subject of nuts...... i have just been shopping and bought cashews, walnuts and pistachios... i bought these nuts coz i got sick of peanuts when i was doing the atkins a while ago ....i am currently on phase 1 are all these nuts ok? obviously in moderation and not all at once!!!! :hyper:

I was hoping to find out this info...

I lost 8lbs in my first week and nothing since and I am wondering if it could be the nuts.

I have been in the gym every day for the last three weeks so why am I stuck?

Soy nuts are a great snack, you can eat a whole 1/4 cup of those!

Dry roasted and cocktail peanuts have sugar in the list of ingredients, but only one gram on the Nutrition Facts. Are certain types of sugar to be more avoided? Is less than one gram not enough to goof up the detox? Plain, non-fat yogurt has 18 grams of sugar and carbs per cup. (which I will avoid this time in Phase 1) The sugar thing confuses me a bit. I know some are added sugar, and some are natural I guess.

I eat nuts for my snacks all the time. They're a lot easier to take to work with me than cheese and meat.

Previously on phase 2 I've gotten this trail mix they sell at Costco that has peanuts, cashews, almonds, raisens, and M&Ms. I just can't stop myself from eating WAY too much of it. I've stopped buying it, so the temptation isn't at home to eat it :)

I'm on day 5 of phase one and I am very proud to say that I have only had a small handful of nuts twice in the last 5 days, and they were the dry roasted, unsalted variety.

I don't know what the problem was, but for some reason I stalled out at about 6 weeks, I'm thinking I wasn't drinking enough water, AND I was eating way too many nuts. I would eat about 3 cups at a time.... so this time ... I only use them in case of an emergency.
