I started Atkins in February. I love low carb and feel great on it... for the most part. Every month around TOM I have horrible stomach aches. I've never been one to have stomach problems, but now I get them every single month. I also have a lot more bloating and cramping than I've ever had before. I'm considering upping my carbs to help prevent this, but I'm also considering that possibly switching to SBD might help. Anyone have any thoughts on this or suggestions?

Hi! :D
I love SBD and have been doing it since 4/25/04. One thing about SBD is it stresses to stay away from processed meats IE: corned beef, pastrami, hot dogs, slim jims, bacon. These could be effecting your TOM and your weight loss as they all have alot of salt and can keep you retaining water hence making your TOM more uncomfrotable as we all retain water at that time anyway. If you do switch to SBD, getting rid of the processed meats will help you alot...heck, if you stay on Atkins, getting rid of the processed meats will help you there too.
I see you had a sour dough roll today. And Flax seed meal and oatmeal.....I can understand the flax and oatmeal but where does the sour dough roll fit in?
When in a losing mode, I get rid of all the refined white flour stuff like bread, pasta. Its another way that my body was retaining fluids.
Each of our bodies is different and only you know or should know, what you can eat and lose weight. If you aren't sure, try eliminating some of the things that I've mentioned and see how it goes. ;)

Today's (and yesterday's) food is a little odd because I've been eating whatever my body can stomach. It's not interested in everything right now because it's being tempermental. I don't think it's the processed meats that is causing water retention and bloating because for the most part I don't eat those anyway.
It's not just the bloating/cramps from TOM that I'm concerned with... it's the legitimate stomach aches that I get around that time... it puts me into phases where I don't want to eat and if I do, I get sick to my stomach. I've been wondering if switching to SBD might help with that somehow, but I'm just not sure.
