Unashamed of their size, fed up with fat jokes, and angry at the national obsession with dieting, overweight activists are mounting a feisty protest movement against what it calls the medical establishment's campaign against obesity.

We had a TV presenter in the UK who done the same.

Until her husband left her for a younger slimmer girl.

Boy Did she ROLL over

Sure, the diet industry markets its products by preying on our self-esteem. But we don't have to buy these products, we're free to choose our own paths. I for one have been dumb enough to buy them in the past, but that's all over now. These products promise the world, only to dash all hope when they don't work, making you feel like you'll never reach your goal, and ultimately give up. So what then? Throw in the towel and join fat liberation? I don't think I could ever feel liberated as a fat person who doesn't care anymore. I have found my freedom in self-education. I can lose weight, feel energetic, and get strong by eating regular foods found at any market and by riding my $70.00 Wal-Mart bike around town. Don't need pills, potions, abdominizers, hypnosis, or invasive surgeries. As far as the medical establishment calling obesity a disease and an epidemic, I guess that's objective. Look around. What do you think? I've actually found myself in rooms full of strangers where there wasn't a single thin person. Maybe obesity isn't the disease, but it sure causes a lot of unhappy problems. Obese people who don't want to put forth any effort for their own sakes can't expect the rest of the world to glorify their condition. It would be like if I were a flaming alcoholic, refused to admit that it was a problem and bad for my health, and demanded that everyone else accept it as a beautiful and attractive quality.
