I don't know what my deal is. I feel great after I work out, but the next day rolls around and I am always so tired and just have the worst time getting myself to go running or do my cardio. Then I'll finally stick to it for 3 months and just stop if I miss more than one day. Did anyone used to hate working out at the beginning and finally started to enjoy it and look forward to it?

I work out 7 days a week, usually. I hate doing it. I do a lot of cardio also/ To get modivated I just have to think about how I feel afterwards and how I am going to feel all day if I don't do it. I also think about all the comments that I have been getting latley, mostly from the cute guys at work

I have a hard time getting modivated as well. I haven't gotten into the swing of exercising regularly. The thing that is currently modivating me is that I want to get in shape for when I return to college in September, and the fact that next summer I might be a bridesmaid or maid of honor in a wedding and I want to actually look good in a dress. :P
I still have to kick my own butt out the door to go jogging though.

i think for me, at first i never have a goal in mind...i didn't know what i was trying to achieve, i just knew i wanted to lose weight and get more muscle....yeah it was hard to motivate myself to get to the track or to the gym.....but with time, and actual specific goals in mind, i've become more motivated to get my behind to the gym! for me, i find that if i run my workouts (and goals of that workout) through my head a few times during the day at random times, i actually get sort of excited to get to the gym! AND the other part of it is, i know and remind myself of how stress-relieving it is to get in a good workout!
HTH! :D

I keep myself motivated knowing that I am one of the few people who are trying to stay active and fit. If it were easy, everyone would do it! Take pride that you have the sense not to give in to man's inherent laziness.

i know this is not going to answer you but i swear when im driving to work to my job i dont like and i see joggers/walkers on my way i have the urge to pull over and get out there with them. i almost feel jealous believe it or not, even though ive already walked ( i get up at 5:30 to walk before work), im not sure if this helps but i find results motivate me, every time i get on the scales or try on clothes that are now too big it makes me want to continue. I do dread going on on mornings when it cold/windy out though.

I do little enough exercise to keep it fun.

The worst part about working out, for me, is the thought of doing it. I'd rather just lay in bed and read ghost stories with my cats. But once i force myself to put on workout clothes, and look in the mirror, and see that the spandex looks WAY better than it did a year ago, i know I have to do it; that exercise is necessary and that i won't be the person i want to be if i don't do it.
In answer to the question- i've always liked the way exercise makes me feel. But the motivation has never been easy to come by. It's more an issue of forcing myself to consistently work out, with the manner of a communist drill segeant.
One of my little tricks is this: put on the damned clothes and go outside (or wherever) with the intent of working out a little, like 10 minutes. After those 10 minutes, i end up doing way more because i'm already sweaty.
Try that.
Oh, and about the stopping exercise after you mess up for a day- that's a big hurdle to get over, and it's very important that you do so. The thing with losing weight and becoming healthier by exercising (in my experience) is that you have to be consistent. Even if the workouts are half-assed, consistency is more important.

Isn't half-assed, more or less, what we all want to be?LOL

I just think to myself:
"Wow, dont worry because if I keep doing this, I cant even imagine the results ^_^"

Motivation to work out. THis is soo what I need. I used to love working out, admittedly, checking out the guys at the gym was a decent motivator when I was single - now I'm married and I'm like, ugh, the gym...Maybe I can ask hubby for special dispensation to gawk as long as I don't touch? Afterall, he would be the one reaping the reward as well... he he

I found out last November that Oxford would reimburse me up to 200 dollars every 6 months if I went to the gym at least 50 times within 6 months. I didn't really start thinking about it until February of this year and starting writing down when I went. I mean I have this little plastic thing that they use to scan but once you are there you really want to go on the machines.
Since I was going less frequently in the beginning of the year I have to go more now and since I've started low carbing on 8/22 I have given up a lot of my TV programs and go more often. I look at the money I will get back as a Reward.
Although I do not use it right now I have a Body Row from Suzanne Sommers and that machine when I've used it works very well. It is not that strenuous and there are exercises on it for just arms or just legs if you don't want to do the Row Motion. You can sit on it and watch HSN all day long or soaps
Last but not least for those that are NOT motivated at all
I used to do something called Body Flex which was Amazing. You can't be pregnant or have high blood pressure and you need to be on an empty stomach when you do it.
It is a special technique with diaphragmic breathing and once you learning it you are all set. Then there is a daily workout video you can use every day only 18 minutes I think and you lose inches with just a few positions. They even have a pose to tone for double chin.
You can find more information at www.hsn.com and type in Body Flex.
I went to a great site called www.sugarfreesheila.com and she also has motivation exercise and beauty tips so that is fun also
I am married to but I like to work out cause I have tons of lingerie I want to wear for my husband and the nice I look in it the better!
Besides, Exercise makes me sane- I would get depressed if I couldn't go on the elliptical for a week.
(In the summer walking the boardwalk is especially nice but i don't know if you live near one).
BTW if you ever get itchy I take 10mg Claritan Non Drowsy 24 hour and it helps me in case i get itchy. My mom used to get itchy too.
There is always dance lessons?
