ok so heres the scoop, I am on 3rd week of atkins and a few days ago I lost my appetite. I am mostly always feeling full, and have very little cravings. So my question: Is this what ketosis is, and does to your body? I have NEVER had this feeling in my whole life, so I was wondering if this is how I will always feel if I stick to the plan? I am trying to find my Atkins book to read up more on Ketosis, but I have had no luck. If so- low carb rocks !!! Also is there anyone else out there who feels like this?

Yes, this is normal and if you stick with LCing, you mostly won't have the horrible desperate hunger you used to have when eating carbage. It's one of the side effects of ketosis.
No, you won't always feel that way. Some weeks I can just sit and look at a chocolate cake and not feel tempted. But other times, a bun on a plate makes me almost drool. Your body and mind are NEVER at a standstill (even when the scales don't move) and there are always chemical things going on. So sometimes you don't crave and other times you do. Be ready for the cravings/ hunger by having protein and fat available. Even if it's chocolates and sweet things you crave, the protein will banish it IF you eat the protein first.

Yep you got it!~:)
Your BMR is what your body needs (resting) to maintain itself. You add calories to compensate for exercise and activity level.
Here is a link about BMR and how to calculate your level.
http://www.ecybex.com/education/calculators/bmr_calc.html
Once you calculate your BMR then adjust for activity level.
To lose fat and not muscle you cut the adjusted rate 10-15%
Example:
BMR 2200 x adjuster (1.4) = 3080 (adjusted BMR)
3080 - 15% = 2618 calories a day
2618 would be the optimal calories intake a day to maintain muscle mass and lose fat.
Remember the difference between losing "weight" (fat and muscle) and losing FAT only. You want to keep your muscle to burn the fat. You want to lose fat for long term results.
A lot of "diets" out there you can lose "weight" but low carb and exercise helps you lose FAT and KEEP the muscle!
Make sure you eat enough calories a day to keep your metabolism fired up!

I find I'm less hungry and have fewer cravings pretty much all the time. And usually when I DO get cravings, I'm satisfied much more quickly.
Once a month, I still am desperate for chocolate. But one ZCarb bar and I'm done. Even with ice cream, which has always been a huge problem for me, one serving of Keto and even though I'd LIKE to have more, I'm OK with stopping.

When I began lcing, I lost my appetite but never missed a meal. I ate less but I did eat. Then I realized that hunger had a totally different feeling than it had before. I eat when I am s'posed to and even if I am not "hungry" I can eat efficiently and properly without that full or stuffed, gassy feeling. Many say it is from ketosis but remember that it is spiked insulin levels that triggers hunger. When insulin stabilizes so does hunger. Stable insulin levels also enables the pancreas to produce glucagon which enhances ketosis. So I guess it is a domino affect.
