I had a bad weekend. I decided that since I am pre-maintenance that I could ad some LC products with low sugar alcohols in them. So over the weekend I consumed 2 pints of the Le Carb frozen dessert, 2 cups of sugar free jello, and before the weekend, some sugar free chocolate pecan treats. What a mistake!! My weight today is up 3 pounds, and I feel terrible, mentally and bloated. Has anyone had similar situations? Thinking we can eat all this junk low carb products without consequences? I totally agree with all the posts, eat real foods, don't fall victim to the temptations of these products. Also, make your own treats. Like the atkins crustless cheesecake. I have also decided that evening snacks can mean left-over salad from dinner or chicken wings. I would appreciate any advice from pre-maintenance or maintenance individuals on how they cope with LC products and products with sugar alcohols. What do you eat when you are hungry between meals?

I don't have to be pre-maintentance to tell ya that you simply over-indulged in sugar alcohols.... they can really wreak havoc on the ol' intestinal system!!

Remember: Everything in moderation!!... even in Pre-Maint!

My new favorite snack is celery and almond butter with just a sprinkling of Splenda :yum:

I guess we all have days when we over do it! Maybe you should have stopped at one pint of Le Carb? :) Don't worry about the 3 pound, it will be gone in a few days. Actually with all those sugar alcohols, for me it would be gone in a few hours. You still have to use low carb products carefully. Just because you are close to or at maintenance doesn't mean its ok to bindge on these items. But I think you figured it out. Cut back your carbs for a few day and let your system readjust.

I recently got myself an ice cream maker and now can make my own ice cream with whatever sweetener I want it to have. I also had a problem with Sugar Alcohols and had a very hard time finding sweets that didn't use them. I have a terrible sweet tooth so I made my own ice cream with splenda and sugar twin and cocoa and cream etc...and I have one scoop after dinner each night and still lose weight. I highly recommend it! :yum:

yep, i've done the low carb treats as well.. lol.. not good really, but we all learn, ow the only low carb stuff (as in full of SA's) i have is the occasional biscuit.... and i mean like once a week..

get some double cream, add some cocoa powder (not a lot) and a bit of splendar, whisk it up and voila, chocolate ice cream, just as someone said above... its awesome, and you really cant tell much difference...

all the best, and stick at it, you CAN DO THIS...
