Hi,

I'm on day 5 of induction. I was wondering if hot dogs are an o.k. food during phase 1? I've done alot of reading and research but havent been able to find anything on them

Watch the fat content. Why not try a turkey dog or a chicken dog? Much better for you if you have to have that kind of food!! ;)

Phase I is only for 2 weeks and if I were you I'd be trying to keep it as close to the recommended foods list as possible. I just checked the list and it does not give any hot dogs in the first 2 weeks. It stresses lean/low fat proteins and hot dogs are very high in fat. :agree:

I was eating them during my first round of phase 2, but I thought I was being naughty. ;)

If eating turkey dogs in phase II did not effect your weight loss, then good for you! I'd still be concerned with sodium levels and fat content.

I am staying away from any processed meats and am eating mostly fish, some chicken and turkey and even less red meat. But I still have meat about once a week, a lean steak works for me.

The Good Carb, Good Fat reference guide gives you all you need to know to be on this plan. It does say you can have turkey bacon , 2 slices per day.

It also says to stay away from processed poultry products and turkey franks fall into this category. :D
