I have been staying in deep purple for the last 2 wks I am really trying to keep carbs to under 20 but I dont feel like I am losing weight (cloths are the same) does being in ketosis mean you are using fat?
thanks,
Yvette

Being in ketosis means you're burning fat instead of the carbs you used to burn. But you still need to eat enough, drink enough, follow the plan, to lose the weight, which we have no idea from what you write if you are following the plan.
Post some menus, or track your progress in www.fitday.com to see that you're getting enough food, calories, carbs.

I am following the plan to the point of measuring quantity and stuff to make sure that I chart correctly I do use fitday but the one that you purchase not the one online. I have been averaging 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs. I eat about 1600-1900 calories a day and I do drink 120oz of water a day besides my green tea

Staying in deep purple is generally not a good idea - it tends to be more of an indication that you are not getting enough water. But 120oz sounds like enough. One thing I can think of is that you body is holding on to water in the now-empty fat cells in order to hold their shape in anticipation of filling them up with fat again. That would explain the deep purple as you don't have enough water left going into the urine to dilute the ketones. That will also explain the cloths fitting the same since the cells are still the same size just have water instead of fat in them.
Multi-week stalls are not uncommon. It's tough, but you've just got stay the course. Generally a good size whoosh is your reward at the end.

That makes sense my body still thinks we are gaining and wants to hold onto that fat  I think I will increase my water uptake and maybe by the weekend the whoosh fairy will show up. I am comfortable with the diet life style change so I dont find it hard at all to follow. I will let everyone know if I do see that fairy :agree:
