My soon to be husband and I are 9 days into a new LC diet. I feel fantastic, :D , initially had worries but thanks to the help and advice from you all I'm great.

The other half however is struggling. He had a bender on saturday night ( 8 pints lager, 2 bottles of wine and a cart load of carby loaded food ) and even though come sunday he was straight back on the wagon, he's still suffering.

Symptoms include light headedness, lethargy, stomach pains and (excuse me for this but. :o .) black loose stools.

Has anyone got any advice or supportive words that can help?

Cheers ;)

Just stay clean man!

The best thing to do is to avoid the carby foods abd booze until the induction is over.

I ate a frankenfood and got ewwie gooies! Now I will not go near them. My stomach hurt so bad.

you know when you said black stool, that sort of concerned me. it could be a sign of blood somewhere up in the gi tract. it also could be something he ate a lot of that was black, like licorice?
i found this site, don't want to alarm you, but check it out, maybe a doctor's visit is a good idea?

MANY people comment that a little goes a LOOOONG way when it comes to liquor and LC. He drank a fair amount for a "normal" diet (does this need additional comment? GI problems and heavy drinking are related) but on the LC, which he really was still on despite all the carbs that night, he went WAY over the line. Do a search--you'll see this time after time.

I don't know (and, not drinking myself, don't care) whether blood alcohol is actually higher, or if the effects are simply worse. If the first, driving on what would otherwise be a legal intake could have really nasty consequences, way worse than a kick-butt hangover.

I know I had a bender with pizza and man did I pay for it for 2 days. I felt like my stomach was sticking out 3 feet, it just kept churning and things got nasty. I'm sure after a couple days, he'll be back to normal.

I tell ya, that made the cravings for pizza go away!!! I was so sick, blahh. I bet it will cure him. Unfortunately, he had to learn the hard way!!! (I know how he feels :o ) LOL

y'know.. i once read that it took 39 days of continuous practice to develop a good habit.

the word for it is... dicipline.

if its not there, it's not going to happen. so... its up to him what he wants to do, and only him. wish him well. and let him watch you as your body changes. perhaps he'll get it eventually.

good luck.
