Feeling good over here too, and I agree, the secret to making CAD work for you is all in the planning. You can manage pretty much any social situation if you just plan ahead.

Not much going on for me this weekend except a bbq/housewarming party for my daughter and her BF. That will be fun, especially since my ex will be there and I am a lot thinner <evil grin>.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I think I've overdone the RM the past couple of days - turkey burgers (with buns) and salad last night, was too much. I'm thinking of losing half the bun, zone-style, for tonight, maybe increasing the salad. Plus, getting some exercise today will help a lot, too!

anyway, I popped up by a pound today - maybe just normal variation, dunno. I thought it would be down, I woke up during the night with my stomach growling! Would that have been an excess carb reaction?

*crossing my fingers*

I agree, having a plan in place really helps, and having folks to check in with helps me make myself accountable too.

Good luck, one and all - weekends can be hard or easy, it's all in the planning. I'm hoping I'll drop a size and can then go reward myself with a new pair of slacks; but I realize it may take some time to get there.

Hello!
Good Friday everyone.
I love this WOL! I love my RMs, and so far (almost a year) so good. I'm not trying to lose anymore, I just want to maintain. So my RMs may be a bit more carby than yours.
Having mexican tonight, so my son can eat (had his wisdom teeth out Wed) easily. Salad, taco meat, chili beans, tortillas w/cheese, and lots of extra vegies. Cherries are here, and good, so I'll have some of those too.I'll have 1 small tortilla, but my guys will have at least two, and more cheese and beans too.
CM lunch will be a salad and a plain hamburger, from the meat for dinner. Have to get some chicken and salmon cooked up for the weekend.
Have a great day-
E

Can't remember who but some one asked my age, 24. I am 130 today but there are many factors that may be causing that. I haven't gone to the 'bathroom' in 2 days, I started lifting weights, and had a carb heavy RM last night.

Everyone sounds like they've got good plans and I hope we can all stick to them.

I have a bridal shower and my grandma's birthday on Sunday, so there will be lots of cake and temptations, I will try to be strong.

Hi everyone! I'm still doing well. I am starving right now and shouldn't let that happen but I am about to go make a big salad for lunch. I haven't had any carb cravings, so that makes it a lot easier. No weekend plans. DH is away and I am here with the baby :)

Hey everyone! I am finally finished with school for the year. Actually, Wednesday was our last day (a workday), but I have been in everyday since, including today. Somehow I always seem to end up changing rooms, which is a whole lot more work. Weight is at 148.5 today. This may sound crazy but today was the first time I had a CM at a restaurant since starting CAD 3 months ago. I went to Wendy's and had the Spinach Chicken salad which had spinach, grilled chicken, tomatoes (which I removed), chopped egg, and bacon. I used 1 small caesar dressing packet (150 cals, 1 g carbs). Does this sound legal? It's a bit higher in calories than I normally do, but the best option available I think. What do you guys do when you eat out for CM's?

Willb-Yes, weekends are very hard for me as well. Even with planning, somehow I allow myself to get tempted at restaurants, especially. I'm sure my choices would be even worse though without the planning. You seem to be on the right track and have a good attitude.

Tracy-That's going to feel so great to show off your thinness:)

Vicki-I am always hungrier the day after an overdone RM. Don't worry too much about that unexpected pound, especially if you think you've been slightly overdoing it recently. It should be back off in no time!

Eno-I am so glad that you post here b/c so many people who are at maintennance seem to go away. Did you lose all of your weight on CAD? How is your current eating different from when you were trying to lose weight? How much does your weight fluctuate, and what do you do if you have found that your weight is slowly inching upwards? Thanks in advance for answering these questions:)

Amy-Yes, all of those factors are probably adversely affecting your weight right now. The pounds should be back off in a few days. Have fun at the parties Sunday and try to focus on the friends and family, not the food (I know, easier said than done, right).:)

Starlily-Hope the salad curbed the hunger. Enjoy the time to yourself and with your baby.

Wendy- I'll answer yur questions as best as I can.
I have been on CALP/CAHHP since July,2003. I started losing weight very quickly, and still find it hard to believe. I never had a weight loss goal, just wanted to improve my cholesterol and other lipids. I eat 2 eggs and 2 slices of turkey bacon for my CM breakfast, vegie and protein for lunch, cheese or almonds for snack (10) and to help me have yet another glass of water, and a balanced RM that starts with a big salad. I am not slowly gaining, but continue to lose. I have lost an additional 20 pounds since Christmas, but the last 10 have been very slow. (Haven't changed my stats yet for the last 5 lbs.) I did not eat sugar for my carbs when I was losing. I had grain,RM vegie, bread or fruit. Now I have more sweets, but find I'm not really interested.
It is hard to not have sweets outside my RM- like it's hot today and I'd love an icecream- but I'll wait.
I use no low carb food or products, but still have one diet soda a day outside RM.What can I say- I'm not perfect.
I hope this helps-
E

VickiR,
I am fairly new to CAD, but it doesn't sound to me like a turkey burger with a bun and salad is too much. I have that alot and have salad and another veggie and nuts and usually a diet ice cream bar and am still losing. All you veterans out there what do you think? Thanks Jeanie

Enomarb, I was glad you posted your plan...It helps me to see what others do. I keep racking my brain trying to remember what I did last time hoping that I can do it again. I am about 4 years older now..hope that doesn't matter too much!!!

I am finally back on today after a terrible pms time:( I have to stay on next month!!! It is silly to undo everything in one week!!!

LOL - it probably wasn't the turkey burger w/ bun and salad that did it; it was probably the red wine that did the job!

off wine for now, to see if that helps. there was another thread (I think on the Atkin's thread) on red wine and how it can slow weight loss. Not changing anything else, though. and I'm exericising nearly every day, even if it's just a 20 minute walk (sometimes it's even more).
