Hi everyone (again). I've been doing the Atkins diet for about 7 weeks now. I've had my ups and downs I suppose but I've gone from 247 to 235. I really want this to work so I've been pretty strict.

The biggest problem has been my energy level. Since I started I've felt consistently sluggish. I practice a martial art (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and I try and work out on the side. The energy decrease has been especially evident during those times. I tried the Atkins Advantage bars before class but I am so anal now about stalling I try and keep those to a minimum.

I take a multi-vitamin, I drink boat loads of water, and get roughly 7-8 hours of sleep. Dinner is sometimes a mess though as I work late and don't have time to go home before the martial arts class. I'm trying to eat at least a hamburger patty or something before hand, but it's tough. Even if I skip dinner before, I get home at 10:30pm and as much as I want to eat, I try not to as it's late and all of those horror stories.

Anyhow, my question is two fold---

a) What can I do to up the energy?

b) Has anyone heard of Light Force "High Energy Greens"? I doubt the idea is new, but I was given a free sample of this months ago and only used it once. Here is a link: http://cheapboxing.com/lightforce.html

Unfortunately it doesn't list the ingredients on the link, but they are listed on the jar. If it helps to see them I can try scanning them at work tomorrow.

If someone was familiar with this product, I wanted to know how it might mix with the Atkins diet. It always seems like one tiny thing ruins my week so I'm scared to even try it in fear of losing (yet) another week to no weight loss. The stuff tastes horrible, but if it solves my little energy crisis, I'll down it Fear Factor style.

Thanks again everyone.

Try a Tbsp of a good virgin coconut oil before you work out. I found that I was having energy problems too till I started with the coconut oil. I get mine from www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com Coconut oil metabolizes differently because its so small and its used as instant energy, but its still a fat.

How many calories are you eating a day?

my journey, thanks for that advice. i will definitely look into the coconut oil.

jag, i'm not sure honestly what my calorie consumption is. i've been counting carbs and that's it. if anything the calories are lower rather than higher. i read an article in a health magazine that said even when low-carbing that calories still counted, so i've been trying to follow that philosophy when i can.
