I know it's possible to loose inches but not lbs, so my question is where do these lost inches go if they're not getting flushed away like the lbs?

Often you lose weight first, and then your body "catches up". Which is were most people lose inches w/out lbs.

Occasionally someone will start a diet/excerise plan and notice that they are staying the same weight and losing inches, and it's because they are losing fat and gaining muscle which is heavier but much more dense so it's less space and same/more weight.

Look forward to anyone elses answers as mine are not very specific or scientific by any means. ;)

That is my problem i'm loosing inches 16 to 12 but the weight is still there, which is frustrating me big time. I realized it must of been the muscle toning and burnin fat issue but its just I WANT TO SEE LESS POUNDS ON THAT SCALE

If you paid less than $300 for your scale, then it isn't all that accurate. The tape measure and the fit of your clothes ARE more accurate and you CAN believe them.

But don't go out and buy an expensive scale - it isn't worth it. Can you go to a doctor's office or exercise club - sometimes in apartment building fitness centres - and get weighed on a balance beam scale?

What I'm worried about with the tape measure though is it can be anything from say my breasts 44-41 depends on how tight the tape measure it, the waist being 44-37 depending on exactly where I measure...I'm trying to keep it exaclty the same every time...but...
