I'm a Newbie!

My name is Kathleen and I have been known to be chatty at times :D

A very good friend of mine found this site and told me that I just had to visit and see what it was like. What I have found is a wonderful group of people who are here to support one another in their weight loss journey, no matter the diet they choose to do it with. No judgements and lectures, just support and assistance. Basically, I very much liked what I found - thank you Marlies!

I started the South Beach Diet on May 17th and weighed in at 305.4 - not my highest I've ever been, but high enough. But I am determined to lose an immediate 50 lbs so that I can start the process of conceiving. After the birth of my first child I am determined to lose until I reach my goal of 140 lbs. This means that in total I want to lose 165.4 lbs

Hi Kathleen, Welcome to the TDC. I agree you'll find all sorts of support here -- feel free to take advantage of it all!!

You're not the first person who has joined with the goal of conception -- I wonder if there is a thread for people with this goal? Maybe under the buddies category.

Anyway, good luck on your journey -- and by the way, I'm from Brampton but work in Toronto too!! :)

You've definitely found a "family" forum here....no judgements, just 100% support, which is why I'm here too!

Good luck on your journey....and if I may suggest...start a journal too. It'll give you a space to get out any concerns/frustrations/accomplishments/achievements/ and general thought-ramblings, with -again- plenty of support as well!

Welcome to the family. You will find lots of support and knowledgeable people here.

I have not used this WOE for conception purposes, but with my current pregnancy I am using it to maintain my health. It seems to be going pretty well this time around.
