Krusteaz--based in the Pacific Northwest--has a new line called "Carb Simple" of muffin mixes, bread mixes, etc. Most boxes say 9g net carbs per muffin or slice of bread.

I have made the homemade bread and it was wonderful. It is expensive though.. like 6 dollars instead of the 2.50 for the regualr non lowcarb version. The muffine are around the same, but I have not tried them.

I know at first the stuff will be high to off set there new production line, but it makes me SO mad that they take out the sugar and then charge us so much more. My grocery bill has gone from 125-150 a week to 230-260! CRAZY stuff.

9g of net carbs just seems very high.

Not to mention that the name "Krusteaz" is not particularly appetizing. It reminds me of that clown on the Simpsons.

I have just tried the krusteaz carbsimple pancake mix and I must say that is delish! The smallest amount you can make is for 6 small pancakes - 3 small pancakes equals the 9 net carbs, so I just ate 3 of them. You could probably refrigerate the rest of the batter and make it the next day. They are very filling and I got the box on sale at Safeway for 2/5.00. Worth a try!

Hi, does anyone have a list of the ingredients for the low carb version of these muffings in the Carb Simple line?

Thanks,
Shelley

All I know is wheat flour was high enough on the list of ingredients that I put it right back on the shelf.

Thank you so much! I have a friend whose coworker gave her one and it is in the fridge at work. She is on Atkins and close to goal, but without the list of ingredients, I would not advise testing it. I would be snoring at my desk for days!! :)

theyve been out for a long time, and all contain trans fat.

I've used the pancake mix once and it wasn't anything to rave about - certainly not worth the price. Much easier and a heck of a lot cheaper to make your own mix with almond flour, etc. I've seen the brownie and muffins, but at 9 net carbs along with the high price, I think there are plenty of recipes out there with better taste and less carbs per serving. My opinion anyway.

DH liked the brownies 100 times better than the Atkins brand!

I actually have two boxes of this stuff in the pantry -- bought it months ago -- that I forgot about. Maybe I'll make them for the family this weekend.

Krusteaz stuff is really good. I know the name's a bit funny, but I've tried their "regular" mixes in the past and been very happy with them.

i have not found the krusteaz pancake mix. but i got my carbquik in the mail instead. i do not buy the krust. muffin mix cause i says it has wheat flour??? and malitol in the mix --you know the stuff that makes your stomach cramp and gassy --so i just pass them up. plus 9 net carbs is a lot for one muffin when you only allow 20-25 for the day.

i used to eat the boxes of frozen krusteaz pancakes and french toast all of the time. they were cheap at walmart. and delish. now i must tweak my carquik recipes for pancakes and french toast!!

I bought a box of the Krustez classic wheat bread mix. 3 mixes in the box for $2.99 at my local grocery outlet. I made it in my bread machine when we were having company and had 1/2 of a slice myself. None of the company knew it was LC bread, and not only did the whole loaf disapear, but they commented how yummy it was to have fresh hot bread! I thought it wasn't bad at all.
