I've been on induction for a week now and have been drinking a LOT of water, I'm figuring a little more than a gallon (128 oz) a day for the last few days anyway. When I talked to my husband about this he warned me to make sure not to drink too much water because that can be dangerous, especially since there is water in many foods that we eat anyway. Does anyone know how much is too much??? And has anyone ever encountered problems by drinking more than a gallon of water each day?

I drink over a gallon everyday. As long as you are taking some
vitamins. I don't think you can drink too much water.

Ok, I did some searching online and found out that

the average person can consume up to 15 liters of water in a 24-hour period. WOW!!! That's over 500 ounces.
Drinking too much too quickly can cause swelling in brain cells and head pressure
And, that more than 4 quarts of water per day is really only necessary during extreme sweating, otherwise it may just put unnecessary stress on one's kidneys, dilute electrolytes, and flush out essential minerals

Anyway, that's what I've found out. If you have anything else to add, please share.

Thanks,

One good thing about lots of water.
When you are in Ketosis water flushes out excess Ketones.
Ketones are like charcoal is to wood and can be burned for fuel.
If you flush them out you need to burn more body fat.

The risk of flushing your minerals is true, that's why you are supposed to take supplements. You may find yourself getting leg cramps if you aren't taking any vitamins.
I've never heard about swelling or anything, and 'too much too fast' is sort of an obscure way to put it. What if they mean drinking 2 litres in one hour?
I drink almost a gallon of water a day, and have never had any troubles.

Cheers!
