Hi, I'm new to the forum. I need advice about why I'm so incredibly crabby on induction. I have Atkinsed before with great success, fell off the wagon, and have been back on for about a month. I remember this happening last time. I'm not naturally a crabby, irritated person, but I feel like biting people's heads off. Do I need to exercise more, am I missing something nutritionally? Please don't tell me to eat a little more carbs, we have a addictive death grip on one another, currently I'm probably at around 20 - 30 g/day. Help!

I could just be your way of handling withdrawl from the carbs. Once your system cleans itself out you should be ok. Just warn everyone around you, and if they cross your path its no ones fault but there own. After all you did warn them :)

I just started inducting today. I am at m y GF's right now and we are about to sit down to a nice salad and some cauliflower au gratin and blue fish stuffed with shrimp this is gonna be yummmmyyyyyy
I am not crabby so maybe it is just how you handle the withdrawl. Then again what is there to be crabby about...grab yourself a partner and try 30 minutes of sustained rapid hip thurusts in a forward motion until you max out completely...trust me you won't be crabby afterwards.
Congrats on inducting and good luck

Generally speaking, the carb withdrawal only lasts for the first three to five days--not for a month. So yes, I'm going to recommend that you increase your carbs, but not by a lot--only about 5 carbs per day, as in make sure you're getting 35 carbs a day, not hovering between 25-35, but a good steady 35. Just make sure that the increase comes from things like a few nuts, berries or other healthful veggies. Trust me, you can't get into trouble on 35 carbs a day, LOL.
The crabbiness could also be caused by hormones. LCing tends to do a few things to our hormones, and increasing your carbs by just a few could help with that as well.
Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon! I hate being cantankerous!

I tend to be EXTREMELY irritated all the time too being on Atkins. I bite everyone's head off that comes around me. I'm guessing MaryToU is most definantly right on carb withdrawl. I miss my ice creams and cookies! :-/
