Morning all! I've been a bit MIA recently. It's a very hectic time of year as a teacher, but the countdown to summer vacation is totally in progress:) Weight was up a bit a week or so ago due to a double whammy of pasta and cheesecake at Olive Garden, but after eating back on plan (CAD), I am back to 147 today. I think I've found what I can and cannot handle on this plan. Eating out is the hardest for me, limiting myself to one carb at dinner. But at home, I never have a problem. I think someone mentioned that I eat higher carb. Even on Protein Power I did. I ate around 60g total carbs per day. I spent about 2 years on Atkins eating at Induction levels, and never lost. Yep, that's right, no loss! And I developed hypothyroidism in the process, possibly b/c of the sustained low level of carbs. Funny how as soon as I raised my carbs, the weight melted off. For those of you who don't know, I've been maintaining now for 6 weeks using CAD (Carbohydrate Addict's Diet). I now eat around 90g of carbs total a day, 75 or so at dinner. My cravings are much more under control eating this way, I don't snack anymore, and most of my carbs are from fruits, nuts, and whole grain everything. I love this WOE! Well, I gotta go get ready to teach the rugrats yet again. Summer, here I come:) Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Good morning to all :)
Did really good on eating all day until after dinner, everyone gone somewhere and little one fell asleep, so mixed up 4 oz !! of cream cheese with raspberry da'vinci and ate it all! Thats what I get for boredom eating. Should have cleaned something instead, but on to another day. Sure tasted good tho! :D
Going to work today. They are replacing the carpet this week and office is all torn up. Should be a real mess. THought that I would get an extra day this week which would really help the budget, but they say that they dont need me, plus not even my half day. So budget is smaller than normal.
Hope everyone has a great day!!
Love, Carrie

Good Morning Everyone!
Well, I finally got out for a walk yesterday. It was still 83 degrees out, so I didn't walk far. I'm going to try to go further today.

Wow, was going to say good morning but guess it is more like this afternoon :)
Yesterday's menu:
B - morning starts blueberry cereal w/CCD milk, 2 cups coffee w/H&H
S - 1/2 apple with 2 TBS peanut butter
15 minute Ab class
L - Usual salad w/grilled chicken
S - small handful pumpkin seeds, Dannon lite & fit smoothie (before gym)
Gym - 55 minutes elliptical machine, 5.08 miles and 587 calories
D - 6-8 oz grilled beef tenderloin, 1.5 cups broccoli/cauliflower mix w. 2 pats butter
Ate too much for dinner and was miserable, didn't even have my usual dessert.
Wendy - Good to see you post :) I think we all have certain foods that we just cannot eat. I am really glad that CAD is working for you. Eating out is hard on any plan ;)
Shelly - Aren't you the busy one :D Being a city girl my whole life I just don't understand all the cow things you do but sounds like hard work! Curves is a great program, hope you can do some recuiting :)
Carrie - At least it was a low carb splurge :)

Blah! This week is dragggggggging along. It's a very challenging time of the year for me. It is the time where I do not like my kids very much anymore. They come in so sweet as baby 6th graders in the fall, so quiet and scared. And then somewhere about now they turn into mouthy, disrespectful, and hormonal 7th graders! Just four more weeks....
Carrie-Just wanted to say that I noticed that you are now under 160. Great job! Try not to worry too much about the cream cheese incident. Cream cheese is one of my weaknesses, especially when it is turned into a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, yum:)
Lissette-Sorry to hear about your grandpa. My thoughts will be with you.
Acipenser-I see you are making progress as well. Yay for getting under 200. That's got to be sooo exciting for you. I think it's interesting that you are dreading school letting out, but then again, it might be because I don't yet have kids of my own. At least not any that I don't give back at the end of the day:)
Bawdy-It was good so see you post the other day. I've been thinking about you a lot and praying that things will work out. You are a very strong woman and I am grateful for knowing you and the support you have always given me.
And a good night to everyone else out there in computerland!

LOL....I know!!! I live with one, couldn't imagine a room full :D We have hit the age where she knows everything, I know nothing, and major attitude!

Thought I would pop in for a second. Still not feeling very chatty. There have been some good signs, and I'm trying to be positive. Deep in my heart I feel that we will work this out. I know that sounds like wishful thinking, but if you knew our history, you would feel the same way.
Officially down to 155 today. That's 11 pounds down in just over 2 weeks. I'm getting very few carbs, but trying to keep my protein levels up. Taking a multi-vitamin every day to help fill the gaps.
I now officially only have a couple skirts that still fit me. Early last Fall I bought a suit that was too small. The jacket was a little tight, but the skirt was way too tight. It was on sale, I loved it, so I bought it. DUMB!!! Don't ever buy something like a suit too small, because you never know what your body shape will be when you do lose some fat.
This morning I was trying to find something to wear to work that looked decent (everything was hanging off me), and I saw the suit. I tried the skirt on and it fit perfectly. Then I put on the jacket. It looked like it was 2 sizes too big. Awful. Just awful. So that was a total waste of money!
It's one thing to buy a sweater or a pair of slacks too small. Never buy a suit too small.
I really don't want to spend any money now, but I might have to go out and buy a few things. Luckily, we live near (ok, over an hour away from) three outlet centers -- Freeport, Maine; Kittery, Maine; and North Conway, NH (no tax there). I'm closest to the NH center, so I typically go there. I'll wait a week or two, but then I'll probably have to break down. This weekend I'll spend some time weeding through my wardrobe, taking the winter stuff out and replacing it with the summer stuff that actually fits.
Eleven pounds is good. I'm within 3 pounds of where I was before at my lowest, but don't try this at home, folks. With summer coming and having to take care of the place by myself (3 acres to mow), I'll be getting plenty of exercise. Don't know how low I'll go.
We'll see what the future brings. Feel free to send your positive thoughts this way. They will be appreciated.
PS: Tomorrow is his birthday. The furniture store called, and tomorrow they'll be delivering the chairs we picked out together. I'm not anticipating that it will be a good day.

Good evening everyone :)
Bawdy-its so good to hear from you. I am always afraid to buy something too little because I've never been able to tell what I would look like smaller.
Actually, I have never been smaller. This is it. I am in my last clothes that I have saved for years. If I happen to drop any more, I get to go shopping !
Wendy-You are so sweet to notice. I was afraid to claim it because I am afraid I will never see it again. I havent been this size in a long time. In fact, my weight tonight says it wont be back tomorrow-but boss took us out to lunch today and also snacked before dinner as I was too hungry to wait for the chicken to finish cooking on the grill.
Dawn-Love the new picture!
Chamellie-I live with a 7th grader too! They "think" they know everything!
My splurges generally are low carb-just too many and too much. I dont know how people hold it down to 1000-1200 calories. I am a major grump if I dont eat enough. I average about 1850 calories. I would like to be at 1500 but not willing to give up anything I eat at this time. I keep telling myself that I will be more active as the summer gets here and that will help.
Song-I would love to have 83 degrees. We got up to 57 degrees today and expecting more rain tonight and all weekend again. But, I will be in Utah in two weeks, keep the good weather around for me please :)
Acipenser-Hope you had a great day!
Lissette-Sorry to hear about your Grandpa. Sounds like you are still busy with the cows. Are they done calving yet??
Unity-Hope you had a good sleep. I dont know that I could work nights and sleep days. Well, actually, I know I couldnt sleep days. I'm sure the kids would wake me up to ask me really important questions such as "can we have a piece of bread, glass of milk, so and so is picking on me, etc..."
Well, I hope I didnt miss anyone. Hope everyone has a good night and will check in first thing in the morning.
Love, Carrie

Aww..sorry about the suit Bawdy.. I have a feeling that is what will be happening with one that I bought for the same reason..the cute factor and the sale price!
I'm so tired I cant see str8.. I read everyone's posty's.. just too blurry to respond....and copying from my journal.. lol. I get the lazy star tonite:
Nice lunch with the students today.. again, 3rd day in a row with higher carbs, but still controlled.. going to see how this affects my whole system. Have to stay away from corn stuffs..but found out last nite AFTER I ate them, the genisoy low carb tortilla chips is made out of corn flour.. so that elevated my morning bg to 168! PHEW..then the teacher I assisted this time around, was so proud of his homemade mexican corn bread, that I had a small piece of it, it was good, about the size of a corn muffin serving. I am going to miss this class, they were such a pleasure to teach. I am tired tonite... have an early morning appt then taking the car over to get the sign decals put on my rear and side windows on my car. I cant wait to see how they look!
It does seem that the more 'carbs' I am allowing myself, the more I want. I need to really be careful and keep a close eye and monitor things. Watch what triggers it, and pay attention again to emotional eating.
My net carbs and calories for the last few days:
May 1: 31 Cals: 1674
May 2: 29 Cals: 1257
May 3: 55 Cals: 1544
May 4: 47 Cals: 1873
May 5: 66 Cals: 1597

Sounds like everyone had a fairly good day. I was doing great until we had a special appreciation breakfast at work. There was a wonderful breakfast casserole that I had 2 pieces of. I didn't find out until later that it was made with bread! Oh, well. I just made sure to really watch what I ate the rest of the day!
Our company picnic is tomorrow. They always have it catered and serve fried fish and chicken strips with fries and cole slaw. Guess I won't be eating at the picnic! I'll have to grab me somehting to take with me.
Everyone have a great night!!
