I know in some parts of the country they have ice cream shops called Braums.... they are now featuring low carb ice cream. 2-3 net carbs per serving... I went there today and tried it and it made me so SICK! Has anyone else experienced this same thing? Or is it just me?? Please let me know. Thanks

So far I have tried the above brand (Carb....can't think of it). Tried the butter pecan and thought I'd died and gone to low carb heaven. NOT! A short time later I was cramping and woooooooosh! Went to hell in a porcelain bowl. I guess that's one way to lose weight! Didn't learn my lesson so--then I tried the Rocky Road. Again I was so pleased by the taste and then same result. Don't mean to offend anyone. Sorry to be so gross. Any others w/same results? What's doing this so I can avoid it? One of the sweeteners? It says Splenda on it and I don't have a problem with that. I get headaches from aspartame. Some other brand that won't do that? The bars, etc. also cause other problems that make me unpopular at times with DH! Guess I should just stick to the healthy natural stuff. :(

I thought the chocolate chip was great -- really creamy and good. But it did cause too much gas for me to have it very often. I actually thought in terms of taste, it is better than any ice cream on the market. It isn't the worst for that: Blue Bunny is. But so far Bryer's seems to have the best balance of taste and lack of gassy side effects, in my opinion.

Just bought a half gallon at my local Braum's store this weekend and have only had 3 spoonfulls so far, but the taste was excellent and I had no negative side effects. Of course, Maltitol doesn't bother me either, and I try not to eat these LC ice cream/candy very often, but can't help myself here and there =). Sorry to hear you were sick though =( Maybe it was a bug going around?

I kinda gave up on Braums in fear of getting sick...so, at Walmart I was lookin' for what was new- and I found Ben & Jerry's Carbkarma ice cream called "half baked" it was truly the best thing I've ever had....it was half chocolate ice cream half vanilla ice cream with chunks of cookie dough and brownie bites in it- and the best part of it was, after i was done eating it....i didn't feel sick at all! Worth a shot y'all! Happy carbing!

I am so sorry to hear about all of the problems with the "Carbwatch". I guess that I am pretty lucky. My only problem is staying away from it....I could eat it everyday. I have tried every flavor and love them all. My favorites are butter pecan, vanilla and chocolate almond. No problems at all with cramping or gas.

When I first tried lc ice cream I was fine, no bad results. Guess my body was saying "NO MORE" cause now if I eat it my tummy does some weird stuff for that day and the next. Just like the Atkins advantage bars. Never gave me bad side effects for months but now? Shoot, don't even wanna go there.. {UHG}

I was wondering if you could tell me the serving size and amount of carbs are in Ben and Jerry's new flavor?

thanks

I really haven't looked into Ben and Jerry's as I can get the Blue Bunny (much cheaper and I like them better than Bryers LC) at Walmart and the NEW Braum's is just down the road. But the serving size is 1/2 cup, or 1 scoop at the store. I strictly stay to the serving size, since I am not wanting to overload on sugar alcohols. I aslo only have 1 "treat" with sugar alcohols about every other day. The carb count is from 2-5 depending on the brand and treat.
