Have any of you hypo's had problems with brocolli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach...all the crucifers? I've noticed that when I eat these, my throat feels 'swollen' - could that be my thyroid or is it in my head??
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

I've never had that problem, maybe it's an allergy or maybe you have something developing on your thyroid. I had my thyroid removed last year due to cancer. I noticed a lump on my throat that did bother me when I swallowed....but that ment any food, not just broccoli etc... it sounds more like an allergy or something..

Hiya

I understand that most, if not all, those veggies you mentioned are what's called "goitergens" and can adversely affect the thyroid. Check this link:

Hope this helps!
