I just bought a gift that is going to knock the socks off my low carb Ma. Look at www.mainecottagefoods.com under the Mothers Day button. They don't have all the stuff listed yet, but there is a chocolate cameo that is to die for - which I bought. There's a gorgeous Polish stoneware dish too that is going to be filled with chocolate. I'm still debating whether Ma is worth it. Hope she doesn't read this :p Or, even better, maybe I can score huge points with my mother in law......
In case you don't know, all the chocolate from Maine Cottage Foods is sweetened with erythritol and is maltitol free if you, or your Ma, have a sensitive stomach. I found out the hard way that some things that say sweetened with erythritol still may have maltitol in it. Weird.

Why doesn't the website provide complete nutritional information for its products?
Isn't that one of the primary drivers in the consumer's decision to purchase from that site?

Thanks, I saw that already - I was referring to standard nutritional information where the serving size is provided along with calorie, fat, carb and protein, fiber and sugar data, etc.
Also, when they list "dark chocolate coating" as a ingredient, how do you know what it is comprised of? It could mean a lot of things.
I may be wrong, but I believe there are labelling laws when you manufacture food products for sale to the public.

I second the email thing. They are nice people. I have eaten a lot of their stuff and the few times I have had questions, they have always been good about replying. Little companies often don't have an entire nutritional label. It can cost a lot of money and a lot of them are dubious anyways (I am always suspicious of how so many "low carb" stuff starts with flour as first ingredient, has 2g carb when the thing weighs 30g meaning the first and most abundant ingredient is less than a tenth the weight. Hard to imagine).
The important thing to me on labels is the list of ingredients and that they are low carb things. When I am curious about calories in sweets, even with stuff with the big nutr label, I take the total weight assume it is 70% fat and the rest protein/carbs and come up with an estimate (a high estimate). In the end, I guess it is my good experience with Maine Cottage Foods that makes me trust them. I can have a low carb cupcake from them and still lose weight - halleluyah!

barefoot55: I went back to www.mainecottagefoods.com to check out their mothers day page again to see what was new (bought this cool box *made of chocolate*! Now I am done, whew.) I saw that they have the chocolate ingredients listed now so I am assuming you sent an email or maybe it was just by chance.
