Does anyone else find measuring their waist hard? Where should the tape go-- at my belly button? As a pear-shaped male, most of my fat is in my lower gut... and do I hold my breath or?? I can make my waist vary by 12 inches (or more) depending on posture, breath, whether I am pushing out or holding in...
I think I've subconsciously held my stomach in for so long that I don't know if I AM anymore...

I had the same problem! So I just picked a spot, regular posture, didn't suck in and held the tape so that it wasn't tight and measured. Figured as long as it is in the same spot each time I measure, I'll still get an accurate reading. Think that might work?

Mybodycomp.com says to measure your waist at the smallest point or half way between your belly button and your rib cage.
