Yummy, the food sounds good.......

Don't you wish sometimes you could have a personal chef who could just whip up these dishes for us :D would make dieting so much easier, just sit down and eat :D

Ilike the idea of a cookbook. With Atkisn I could make my own recipes easily, but with SB I am never sure of the allowed amounts, cals and so on.

I picked up a copy of the book at Borders yesterday. We had the garlic and soy pork chops. They were delicious! Can't wait to try more recipes. My own concoctions were getting kind of boring.

Yeah! I finally got my cookbook. The recipes look so yummy! I am so happy they include a vegetarian section as well. I haven't tried anything yet but from the looks of it I give it two thumbs up. :)

I ended up making the Garlic and soy grilled pork chops. My husband loved them! I don't eat pigs but it smelled really really good. Maybe I'll try tofu with the same sauce. Think I'll try the Oatmeal pancakes for breakfast. :)

This is my first post! I have this cookbook and it is awesome! I tried the oat muffins and the oven-fried chicken with almonds, both were delicious! I am in the process of switching over from Atkins so it's kind of a shocker to see the carb counts on some of these recipes after counting them for 4 months!! I have to keep telling myself....they're GOOD carbs! Stop counting! I'm so happy I found this board and it's nice to meet ya'll!

I used to get scared by the number of carbs too at first. I think about the amount of carbs less and less though and focus more on just eating the right foods in the right portion amounts. :) Oh and welcome to the beach! :) Good to know about the almond oven-fried chicken, I was wanting to make that for my husband this week. Did you use the dry whole wheat bread crumbs or did you whiz a slice of fresh whole wheat bread through the food processor or blender to make them? If you didn't use the fresh... do you think they would work if that's what I use?

I used whole wheat pastry flour since I didn't have bread. It tasted wonderful! I imagined a piece of bread getting all balled up and sticky in my food processor...would that happen I wonder? Anyway, I have a variety of whole grain flours on hand that I use, like oat flour and whole wheat pastry flour. It's nice to be able to use them on the beach!! And thanks for your warm welcome!

I made the oatmeal pancakes for breakfast this morning and they got a thumbs up from all the kids. For dinner I made for my husband the chicken paprikash. Since he tends to not eat anything green I substituted mushrooms for the broccoli and he said it was awesome. He said it would be good over rice too. It smelled so good I think I will try it next time with my soy 'chicken' so I can taste for myself. :)

*sorry to keep this going I just love to hear which ones other people have loved so I can keep it in mind when looking for a new recipe to try.*

I bought the SB cook book at Costco - $14~

I have found the recipes a little too complicated for my tastes. The ingredients aren't ones I would have in my house regularly. However, I recommend the Meat Pie - pizza flavor!
