I'm new to this board...this is my very first post.

Dh and I have been doing Atkins for 6 weeks or so. Dh has lost 25 pounds and I have lost ZERO!!!! I have been a little less strict the past few weeks - mostly because I'm pretty discouraged. I have not had any of the NOT allowed foods- just a few too many carbs in the form of veggies and some nuts. I don't have a lot to lose- just the 20 pounds I put on since starting Celexa two years ago. It shouldn't be this difficult...I have been dieting for two years and either gain or stay the same.

I recently found the prozactruth website and am going to try it's recommendation of taking vitamin e and omega 3 fish oil to get my metabolism back in gear. Has anyone tried this and had any success?

I really like the other effects that low carb dieting has- I feel much more stable- don't have cravings, blood sugar drops and I really don't miss the breads/potatoes/pastas. I just can't get my body into ketosis. Everytime I use a ketostick- it reads NEGATIVE...very frustrating when dh is always between moderate and high.

Men always do better.

And I don't take Celexa. Some drugs make it harder to lose.

My own progress has been spotty and every drop in weight has been accompanied by increased exercise and additional attention to total food volume = calories. For me, I can't just wave my hand and say, "But it's low carb..."

how about effexor? I take it regularly, and have been on Atkins for 9 days.

I have had amazing results by taking only fish oil everyday. I double the dose it says on the label. I take no other meds.

I totally recommend fish oil. I don't know much about vitamin e though.

I take an omega 3 every night and vitamin E (400iu) three times per week which is in addition to the vitamin E in the multi vitamin I take every night. I have had problems with clinical depression all of my adult life and have taken many kinds of meds. I do think the omega 3 and vitamin E helps!!!! Exercise also helps enormously! I don't take depression meds anymore.
