There was a great article in newbie section as a reply to a
post "overworked kiddney's" It was by a guy named
Malcolm Kendrick and was about cholesteral manufactured
by the body vs cholesteral in diet.
It would be great to see that as its own thread-Is this guy
credible? Is the chemistry/biology true?

I cant seem to get quote to work or transfer.

Had to dig to find this posted somewhere other than RedFlagsDaily (membership site, gah!), but I think this is the report to which you're referring:

There is a LOT of detailed science in that article, and "truth" in science must be provisioned on the results of future research and improved theories.

However, I am not aware of any solid scientific finding that conflicts with that article.

This group is quite adept at picking apart faulty science in even the friendliest low-carb article.

I'll do some background checking on the author to see if there is anything to worry about...stay tuned.

(Hat-tip to Elle for posting the original, and for beating me to the punch here - I was moaning over on the beer thread.)

Haha thanks. I had to do a little myself, but then it started to make me thirsty... :p

I love to do research and learn more about all the "why" of LC, but I am not a science head in any way. It's certainly good to have you around for your knowledge of chemistry and such, gotbeer!!.

Heya

If you do a search on Kendrick in this forum you will find the same article a few times.

The original site to red flags daily isnt working any more or I think you need to subscribe, but I had the article saved in my personal archives, so I didnt bother to post a link to a broken site.

Kendrick is great and I even think he is part of The international network of cholesterol skeptics. http://www.thincs.org/

Kendrick, Malcolm; MbChB, MRCGP. Medical Director; Adelphi Lifelong Learning. Adelphi Mill, Bollington, Macclesfield, Cheshire SK10 5JB, United Kingdom.

There are a few of his essays.

I just subscribed to RedFlagsDaily - Kendrick writes regularly there. ($59, US; $77 Can) I'm now waiting for them to email me a password.
