:yay: Awhile ago, I had mentioned that I found a low carb restaurant near my job. Well, the grand opening of Miss Bobbie's Low Carb Shoppe is Saturday March 6th. In the shoppe you can get cereals, snacks, sweets, DaVinci Syrups, pizza, lc dairy, waffles, bagels, cheese sticks, sugar-free gum. The restaurant offers breakfast and lunch items ( cereals, bagels etc ) and lunch items ( salads, sanwiches including hotdogs ). You can get ice cream, coffee, shakes, hot chocolate topped with a big gob of real whipped cream.

There is a scale in the restroom and there are lc books that the patrons can read while they are in the store. I wish you guys could see it!

I have to say that I think that the low carb sereals and bagels just let people go on a low carb regimen, but not really change their habils. It's a gateway effect and leads them eventually to go off of the regimen. People need to realize that to have long term effects they need to make long term changes.

Yeah, but how many restaurants do you know are owned by people who have been on the lc woe for years. How many restaurants can you go to that offer lc hot chocolate and low carb milk. How many restaurants even understand the meaning of low carb? If this restaurant did not exist, we would be saying, "boy it would sure be nice if we had a lc restaurant to go to."

When I first started Atkins a year ago, I was happy to discover a D'Lites store in our area. And one of the things I liked best about it was the fact that several of the folks who worked there were very successful lc'ers. I don't buy so much of the lc products any more, but it was very motivating at the beginning.

black57, that's terrific! I would be very excited if we had a LC restaurant/store in my town. Heck, I was stoked when the local "Ruby Tuesday" began offering LC entrees. Congratulations. Wish I was there! :)

I too, think that is a great idea......I've been wondering how long its gonna be before we see more like that, all over!!
And afalzone I have to totally disagree with you.....I have been low carbing for 1 year and 2 months and have not fallen off a regimen and did change my eating habits........while enjoying things like what this restaurant is offering. Plus I have cheated too on occasions. I have found that I have been more successful on cheating with these low carb treats, while at the same time maintaining my weight loss. Everyone is different, and there is such a thing as changing eating habits and enjoying these things. Believe me!! All the other diets I have been on has not even come close to the low-carb way!!! I have never been able to control my weight like I have in the past year and in my opinion, if these things were not available, it would be much more difficult.
So, low-carb restaurants........Im in favor!!!!!!!! :yay:

Just dropped into a current cafe in Bellingham, just off the Guide Meridian across from the main entrance to the Bellis Fair.

GREAT fresh omelette with MY choice of ingredients (tomatoe, bacon, mushrooms), salsa & sour cream on the side, lowcarb bread or toast offered as an option. Other specified low carb real food items on the menu.

Fabulous. Delicious and Filling. I'm going to get the name of that place and post it, next time I head that way.

I've been low carb since 1998 and I am still wowed by the way things have changed in the last year.
