My BG for the last few days has been so good. The only difference is, I am eating more fat (good stuff like olive oil, and avacados) and the foods I ate that were different, were daikon and LaTortilla low carb tortillas.
I made a taco with one of the tortillas. The next day, I had a "pizza" made with one. Plus I ate fried daikon both days. My first BG readings of the day were as much as 23 points lower. I take glucophage 500mg/1x/day. I guess I will be eating both of those things. I checked my BG 2hrs after the "pizza" and it was 96. The following morning, it was 115. I know this is not as low as some, but they have been as high as 138 upon rising (since I have gone low carb) I don't know quite why this is, but I like all of the things I ate, and can eat them multiple times with no complaint of boredom. Like I said...can't quite figure this out....
Have a great night!

I understand to tendency to obsess over the meter, but realize that FBG is not something you can control like the two-hour after you eat measurement. Remember that you are 5 points off what they consider normal at 115 (I think that 110 mark is considered non-diabetic). I believe others can give you ideas on how to lower it, mine is 2 glasses of red wine every evening (had to give up my beer).
Now, if you start trending toward higher numbers, something will need to be done as far as medication adjustment, so check with the doctor. Remember that you are doing well, seems that your weight has come down and believe it or not, most people don't manage their diabetes the way us low-carbers do.
Don't be surprised if your doctor's reaction to your "complaint" about 115 is to roll his eyes. A very sick friend of mine was telling me how good her blood sugar was when it was 155 after a massive dose of insulin 4 hours after her low-fat lunch. Think her HBA1c stays around a 8 or so. This is the way most diabetics I know manage their condition. Point is, but persistent with your doctor, say something needs to be done, and be prepared to find another doctor.
Anyways, just some suggestions,

I guess I will be eating both of those things. I checked my BG 2hrs after the "pizza" and it was 96. The following morning, it was 115.
It's a little high for the morning, but not devastating. I like to see my morning readings below 100. I'd say you're doing very well. Certainly better than 99% of diabetics out there. Some suggestions:
1) Try not to eat anything after about 7:00 PM.
2) Ask your doctor about Glucophage XR (might not be available in your dosage, but ask.)
3) Like Wsgts, I'm a wino. 1-2 glasses of dry wine every evening makes about a 10 mg/dl difference in my morning fasting reading.
4) Keep your total carbohydrate intake per day below 30 grams.
My goal is 85-95 mg/dl around the clock. My actual readings are about 80-100. Close. I can live with it.
My doctor is delighted.
