I'm so sick and tired of healthy people who've never been in my shoes telling me I'm depressed and overweight because I'm weak willed and have no self control. Honestly, if I could change my weight and my bipolar with thoughts alone don't you think I would?! I don't enjoy being this way! It sure must be nice to be healthy and not understand what it's like to be sick like this. I wish if nothing else they could keep their bigoted and ignorant opinions to theirselves.
It hurts so much right now...

Can't remember his exact words, but in effect:
Don't tell me you have great spirituality and a good relationship with God if you have a good digestion.
Not quite about being bi-polar, but it works. WAY harder to work any kind of life-changing program when there are other irons in the fire, but in some cases, it might be easier. I call it the "F&&!-up and die" position. When we have these other conditions, we have a VERY narrow road to walk or we get MAJOR feedback. People who don't have them MAY have a broader, softer way to weight loss. But not necessarily to real understanding, compassion, or, for that matter, even mastery over temptation!
It takes willpower to keep getting out of bed every day. It takes willpower to keep showing up to the game when I can't figure out why I'm not having any more success than I am. Me and my eating isn't about willpower. People with "willpower" simply don't HAVE the cravings that come from my food reactions and blood sugar surge/plunges. My BF is naturally skinny--he "forgets" to eat. Of course, he smokes like a demon... He NEVER gets an urge to eat when he's not biologically hungry. So I should hold him up as a paragon of willpower? Heck, I was able to quit smoking...
Sounds like your baloney-deflector shield needs a new coat of anti-bull* wax.

As a recovering person in other areas (15 Years) , I can tell you with all sincerity that "Will Power" can not overcome much.....All my Will Power got me was seeking a helping hand and hating myself in the process.
Put your trust and faith in whatever (Personal) Higher Power you can find. It doesn't have to be a God It could be a good group of people like the ones in this forum!!
