I suffer from seasonal depression in the winter (SAD). Right now I am not on wellbutrin for the first winter in a while (it messed with my sleep and gave me headaches. also, I really don't need to lose my appetite, which is a side effect) Has anyone else had success with lowcarbing and SAD? Strangely I don't feel as bad as past winters, but I am wondering if the lack of seratonin from carbs has any effect on depression. I am also thinking about getting a sunlight lamp. Anyone use one of these? Any tips for winter depression? Thanks, and everyone try to keep positive this winter.

I have the lamp and I just this year got on Effexor Er. It works well for me. I do CAD, lighter on refined carbs during summer and heavier on them in winter. CAD controls my insulin yet allws the carbs that my body demands. That being said, I gain weight every winter and lose in during the summer months. Last year was a bad year for me as the winter was so long and the summer was not clear. That's why I searched out meds. It was my worst winter in a long while.
My tips are that if you can get out on sunny days, even if only to sit in the sun, do so!!!
