I wonder if it's possible to start a challenge here in this Irish section of the forum and what better date (us being Irish and all that) than March17! I know I would love to shed 14lbs by that date. Perhaps we could check in on a Thursday evening and as there is no time difference we could even communicate to each other real time. Having been a member of soooo many slimming clubs down the years, although I never stayed as motivated for as long(17weeks) or lost as much weight as I have on atkins, I do miss meeting people and comparing experiences. So even talking on line with other lowcarbers would be great, especialy as I do not have to explain again and again that "no I will not kill myself on this wol quite the reverse". S :doah: o what about it? are we on or what?.

Sounds like a great idea. I tried WW last year and basically lost about 2lbs in 10 weeks..I did think the meetings were good for support etc. So this january I decided to try atkins..one of by friends has been lc for 4 months and she told me that she has never felt better. I must admitt that this diet suits me as i love my meat and veg...! I can honestly say that i have never ate as much on any diet as I have on this one..and I'm losing weight. Well I am 163lbs now and by paddys day I woukd like to be 149lbs...that a stone in a month and a half.. in 6 and 1/2 weeks..which is..about 2 lbs a week. (I had to resort to a calculator for that one)...so how about it carmel and glenellen..?? Need to set ye're targets and we'll celebrate paddy's day in style!!.

Im up for that, It sounds a great way to encourage others. Im 220lbs =15st10lbs at the moment, I love doing the atkins my only down fall is my glass of wine, but it is one of the best diets for results, as for WW I must have a share in that after all the money I spent, for them to tell me I put on a pound or two!!! my fault of course but it dident work for me. Oh yes I suppose I will give up my glass of wine, you have to be cruel to be kind, really really cruel. So lets get started

Hi,Glenellen I am so glad you are going to join us and as we have quite a bit of weight to lose we can keep each other company on this new way of life we have embarked on.I also LOVE my glass of wine or bacardi or lchampagne or in the case of last night all 3!!!!!. It was my husband's birthday (any excuse),boy does adkins give you the hangover from hell, however I had a lowcarb meal in the restaurant so at least I held on to my willpower dispite the drink.I know it can slow down my weight loss but I have given up so much that I like in order to lose my weight ,that I feel I can allow myself this one weakness at the weekend-that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!.

Hi carmel and glenellen.
I try to adhere to the low carb side of the diet..but I'd never survive without my few glasses of wine. I know it slows down the wt loss but it doesn't stop it..and we need something to look forward to. And the big fry up (hangover cure) the following morning is so atkins friendly!!!

Hi girls, I done lots of excerise today, when I say lots, I mean its more then I normally do, which is none. ah... well its a start. so how are you both doing, are you doing anything different because of this goal we set. I have been extra careful, because I think you might let a carb loose here and there if you think no-one is watching!!! I think i've read in the atkins book not all the weight you lose is shown on the scales is that true.... I gave someone a loan of my book and they moved and I refuse to buy another.

What day are we going to have as our weekly post our losses!!??

Hi Kittyford and Glenellen, looks like it's just the 3 of us,I wonder if Fats started adkins on Feb.1?(if you are out there do join us ).Would Friday night suit you both to post our weight loss,-see the power of positive thinking and all that.I am still trying to get rid of the 2lbs I gained over the weekend ,and so this weekend I am only allowing myself 3 glasses of whiet wine on Sat.,because although I do not want to give up my "few"drinks it realy seems to be slowing down my weight loss this week, and I suppose what is the point of all this hard work all week if I then go and un-do it at the weekend, because although there are very few carbs in alcohol your body burns suger alcohol before it burns your body fat,and as I have rather a lot of body fat to lose I realy should not be distracting my poor body from the main task-TO MAKE ME LOOK GOOD!!!!!!!!!!>

Hi girls, friday sounds good, I was going to suggest monday's, just so you would think twice on being naughty at the weekends, but ye friday's good, kitty you be good on that weekend and if you cant be good be careful what you eat or DRINK !! carmel I can understand about the wine thing, it really does slow you down, I should be a lot further in this diet then I am , but its that glass of wine, and it does knock you back, so I am not going to drink this weekend, I am really going to try and talk myself out of it, because my family and the in-laws are all drinkers and I will be seeing them at the weekend (HELP!) like you carmel, I have so much work ahead of me trying to shift the FLAB, I really dont want to give up my wine but, I have so far to go, and if it goes any slower i will only get dis-heartened, I have upped my 2 litre's water a day to 3 litre's a day, its horrible but no pain no gain, and Im walking around like im 80year old since doing exercise, my body is in shock and so is my kids!!! we will all look beautiful and the end of this won't we, I SAID WON'T WE. So friday it is and we will catch kitty on sunday, I have to go and finish my water YUK.

Kittyford ,nope I had to ask my son the computer buff if I did ,and he informed me that not only did I not have yahoo messenger, but even if I did I would not be able to use it!,my small family have no faith in my ability to use any form of technology. They laugh at my one fingered typing, but I could not care less,I may be slow but I get my message out there!.I am realy nervous about my weigh in tomorrow as I still can't seem to shift the 2lbs I gained last weekend, and to make matters even worse last night I was just in ketosis .Oh the demon drink!!!.My family are also great for throwing the odd party or 10.I need to be very disciplined and it is not easy,as my husband is sitting as I type this with a nice glass of red wine,he is very supportive but does draw the line on his having to give up his few glasses of wine thursday to sunday,so I must be STRONG!!.

Hi girls, were the heck do I start, anyway the weight I started on was 222lbs=15st12lbs=100.9 Kg. I weighed myself today, and I know I lost weight, im just not sure how much, the scales I use are kg scales but it prints it out in stones and pounds, but there was no paper in it, so im left with 97.70 Kg so if any of you know your kg please let me know, I would love to use my bathroom scales but im only 14 stone on it, anyway how are you doing, sorry kitty,I dont have yahoo either, but I must have the same hubby as carmel, thursday to sunday drinking and yes he is supportive, but point blank refuses to give up his few cans of cider, and what is my favourate drink, yes cider!! so like you im being slowly tortured but we will show them, I am on my way up to dublin tomorrow to dress my son for confirmation and my daughter for communion, so lots and lots of stress and lots and lots of glasses of .....water, mind you I done my shopping today and guess what... NO WINE !!! I left it out of my shopping list so there's no temptation. so would you concider giving up that glass of wine for a few weeks carmel, and dont forget we only really started on monday so its only five days not a week, so come on tell me how you done

hi ladies, good and bad news!.The good news is I lost the 2lbs I gained last weekend, the bad news is it means I am still the same weight as I was last week and I am going away for the weekend to a house party so I had better be on my best behavior. The strange thing is I do not mind missing out on the high carb foods, but I hate having to sit with only a mineral water for 2 nights, anyway will go online on sunday night,b.f.n.

Hi ladies, I've been eavesdropping, is it ok if I join in, even though its a little late? I would like to try to lose 10 lbs (counting the 2 I've lost this week) by St. Patrick's day. I am Irish-American (4th generation, but still 75% Irish ancestry) do I qualify?
Must mention - I definitely do not give up wine on this diet, and it works for me! It would be too hard for me to stick to it if I knew I couldn't have my wine 2 or three times a week. But that is my only "cheat". I have now lost 70 lbs. in about a year, and am in a hurry to get to my goal!
Anyone know how many pounds equal a stone?

cead mile failte liz,of course you can join in,the more the merrier as you can see we are a small little group but determined nontheless to succeed in this challange we have set ourselves.I wonder is there something in our Irish d.n.a. that makes us love the "odd"glass of wine or2?.I was away for the night at a party and had to stop myself weighing myself on my hosts bathroom scales, but no doubt tomorrow morning I will know if drinking 4 glasses of white wine did much damage, the food was no problem as my host made a big effort to have lowcarb food for me but kept filling up my wine glass!!!.

Hello everyone.
Glenellen told me about your challenge and I was hoping I could join you. I am not Irish but my birthday is on St. Patricks Day. I would love to lose 10 pounds by then.
I had a bad weekend. Lets just say ten 6 year olds, a two hour birthday party, my mother, pizza and chocolate cake. I think that says it all.
I plan on going back on induction tomorrow and I could use a challenge to help me stay on track. I hope you don't mind my droping in.

Hi again,
Thanks for the nice welcome ladies! I am psyched to reach my St. Pat's goal, and this is really helping me to stay on track. I had been stalled for about two months, even without cheating, so last weekend I did what they call a "refeed" which basically means you eat every high carb food in sight for two days, then go back to Atkins. It is supposed to get your weight loss going again, and it worked great for me, as I am down 3 pounds this week.
I am very strict about sticking to the diet, have only cheated 2 or three times, which just goes to show that I have an obsessive personality - I am absolutely determined to do this! Am just sick and tired of being overweight! That being said, I do drink wine, diet coke, and smoke cigarettes! But when that kills me I want to be nice and slim at my wake.
So, three lbs. this week, It will be interesting to see how long I can keep losing after my refeed, without stalling again.
As to the DNA/wine connection, it may be true, but It may be true for lots of different ethnicities too - my Italian, German, Polish and African American friends need their wine/beer/booze too! Or maybe they're all a little bit Irish and aren't telling me...

Hi all!
I don't know if ya'll are aware of this awesome web-site called fitday.com but it is really helping me. You can go there and set up an account (it's free), then you input everything you've eaten that day. It calculates your calories, carbs, and all the other nutritional values of everything you've eaten. So you can really see what you're doing, and where you are having those few extra carbs, etc, that might be slowing you down. When you look at your nutritional values it reminds you to take your vitamins, too.
It does other things too, like calculate how many calories you're burning based on your activity, (or in my case lack of activity), but I mostly love it for keeping-track of my carbs and calories. I think its a lot of fun, plus it will tend to make you think about what you're putting in your mouth so you can remember it to input later.
I have made this WOE the most important thing in my life, right up there with my job and my kids. In fact I took some advice I read in one of those self-help books, which said to treat yourself as well as you would treat your own child. I mean, if one of your kids were obese and unhappy, would you stop at anything to rectify the situation?
Here's another thing that I do which is probably (well, definitely) against the conventional wisdom of dieting - I don't drink all the water! But I do drink enough LIQUIDS to make up for it. I count my diet coke and my tea in my total "water" amount. Crystal lite lemonade is another way to get my liquid. Although my water intake is more than it was before, there's no way I can drink 64 0z. of plain old water a day. A doctor friend of mine told me that a good rule of thumb is to aim for your urine to be completely colorless. On days that I know I'll be drinking wine or low-carb beer, I try to drink some extra water because the alchohol is dehydrating. (Do you have Michelob Ultra in Ireland? It's only 2.5 carbs per beer.)
Liz
PS - Carmel, I think you have lost a lot, if you've only been doing LC since October!

Hi girls and it's nice to see you here scarlet, It's back to basic's for me, I am still disappointed with myself, I even drank 4 litres of water today, I diden't think I could consume that amount of liquid, well non alchoholic!!! liz you said you have wine 2-3 times a week, how many glasses would that be, and I will definitely look into fitday, and no we don't have that beer here, Its difficult to get lo carb anything here. carmel your typing would be a lot better if you put down that glass!! and I also need the support, I diden't think I was so week, I am not visiting my family again, well for a few weeks anyway,it will give me a chance to shift some pounds. kittyford sorry about all that weight you gained for one night of passion lol, but not to worry tomorrow is another day. OH dont forget girls 4 more days to our weigh in.

When I drink my wine or low carb beer, I drink as much as I feel like, which is sometimes a lot!
If you don't have Michelob Ultra, maybe you have Miller Lite? That has only a bit more that 3 carbs per bottle. People who like REAL beer might find these beers watery but I have always liked lite beer.
For instance I went out to a local hole-in-the-wall on Sat. night to play trivia, and had 6 or 8 Michelob Ultras, and was still down a lb. Will probably be drinking again on Thurs. night. I doubt it will be that much though, maybe 2 or three glasses of wine.

Thanks for the welcome all.
I am back on induction today and I have an awful carb hangover. Wish I liked that wine you all keep talking about. I so learned my lesson. I can't wait to gat the kids in bed so I can sit in the peace and have a cup of tea. It's going to be caffinated tonight. OW my head!
I find regular US beer watery so I guess the lo carb stuff would be extra wattery. No help there.
My scale is not working so I have no idea how the weekend hurt me. Hopefully by the time I get a new one all will be normal again.
Thanks for being there.

HI to everyone. Here I am for my nightly fix ,hope everyone is feeling positive.I decided today after talking to a friend who started Adkins the same time as me but who has stoped and started about 5 times and is realy not getting anywhere with her weight loss and I think is only driving herself mad ,that the reason I have lasted so long lowcarbing is because I like an alcoholic I only tell myself that I cannot have-say bread -just for today and repeat that each day .I therefore only have to stay away from that food for one day,so it never seems to long.Works for me anyway, what keeps the rest of you for the most part on the straight and narrow?.I also think it helps me now that I am able to swim each day,I drag myself into the pool each day and feel great when I get out .the old endorphins(not sure about the spelling) start to pump!.

Hi everyone.
Carmel I can't wait till I'm brave enough to put on a swimsuit again. I love swimming. It makes me feel great but I'm just not there yet.
I used fitday yesterday, like Liz suggested, and figured out that I'm not getting enough calories. What a pain. I'm thinking about trying to add more fat. I had this problem the last time too and when I uped the fat I lost much faster, just can't remember how I did it.
I am going to try your one day at a time theory and see how it works for me. Can use all the help I can get.

Scarlet, try eating sausages or bologna, or tuna salad with mayo. Any of those will up your fat pdq.
Carmel, its great that you're swimming, its supposed to be one of the best overall exercises you can do. (So I have heard, definitely don't know that from experience). I am going to have to start exercising, but am so lazy it's pitiful.

Hi girls, and how are we all doing, I do agree with you liz, swimming is the best exercise, but its not for me , I need to stay out of public view, if you know what I mean!! I do a bit of exercise at home, a very small bit, it's only been a week, but I can feel it in my clothes, I bought a suit for the confirmation in march, a size to small of course, and I am going to work my hardest, to fit into it. Goodevening all,am I happy or what?,today shops. I had to buy a new pair of jeans as all my other pants are now far too lose on me .I was a size 24/26 and today I bought a generous size 20!I am still in shock. One more stone and I can shop in normal shops as opposed to outsize.I put a lot down to the fact that I now swim 5 times a week, eventhough my weight loss still has a way to go I have definitely toned up and that is why I think I can fit into a size 20.I know I am not a pretty sight in my swimsuit, but I see it as a means to a smaller end (my end)!!.I love the water and I like to think that in a previous life I was a mermaid, but knowing my luck it was a whale, still I like whales-very gracefull creatures. When I started swimming last Oct. I could only swim 5 lengths of a 25mtr.pool I can now do 35lengths and hope to increase to 40 by March.Remember it realy does not matter to anyone else what you look like now,it is what you look like as you get toward your goal weight that matters.I think it is too hard to lose a large amount of weight like I have to lose without me doing some form of exercise, for me it's swimming, and remember when there is a lot of weight to be shed ,if it is shed just by a diet alone the skin will just hang there, and I for one do not want to go through all this denial only to end up looking like one of those dogs with all that saggy skin(I cannot remember their name). To be very honest when I reach a weight that I feel is healthy and after exercise I am still left with skin that will not go back to where it should ,I would think about cosmetic surgery, just to finish the job I started,do you think I'm mad?.

Glenellen, I wouldnt be caught dead in a swimsuit either! Yet I am so envious of Carmel's attitude about it. I wish I could be that way.
I know that feeling of fitting into smaller sizes, and it is wonderful. Probably the best indicator of progress on this diet (oops, woe).
As to the question of cosmetic surgery - I am already saving my money for a tummy tuck, and maybe a facelift too! My belly is just kind of squishy and starting to have a little overhang over my c-section scar. (Im sorry to gross anyone out, but there you have it). Even if I hadn't gained so much weight I might have done it anyway - have had 4 babies, one of whom weighed over 10 lbs, so I got pretty much stretched to the max from my pregnancies.

Thanks for the ideas Liz. I had sausage for breakfast today. I could only find mild Italian without wheat but it tasted great with some scrambled eggs. I forgot all about bologna(love it fried). I am still trying to get a taste for that fatty mayo.
I'm with you Carmel. I had to put on size 18 pants yesterday because the 20's were falling off. I only have 2 pair of 18's but hopefully I will not be in them long enough to have to buy more. Thanks for sharing the great attitude. You make me want to exercise. As for the surgery if you work this hard to look that good I say go for it. I would gladly get a nip and tuck even a lift here and there (espically after feeding two boys).

Hi all!
I had a bit of bad luck this week. I had some kind of stomach bug and all I could eat was crackers for two days. Yesterday I managed to squeeze in some cheese.
I am finally back on track but with all those carbs I am afraid of my scale. I think I will be avoiding it the rest of the week untill the water weight goes away. The cravings haven't hit yet so maybe I'll escape them. I picked up some sugar free chocolate just in case.
Have a great day! Try not to get down glenellen. You are doing great. I think a little slip dosen't make you a dipso. One day at a time. I know if I can do it so can you. :cheer:
Great job Carmel. You give us all inspiration.

Hi Glenellen, banish such a word fromy y our vocabulary (dipso). The way I see it ,it took most of us a l-o-n-g time to become overweight and new ways of handling family situations or whatever will not happen overnight. So if you slip up from time to time so what?.As for alcohol-I reckon I suffer from that body dysmorphia syndrome except in reverse, when I have too much to drink I think I look thin!!!!!!.

Hi all. Well I got up the nerve this morning to get back on the scale and I lost two more. :) We had a major blizzard here 90+cm and high winds for a day and a half. The whole city has shut down. The kids and DH are driving me crazy. I did get lots of exercise today though fort building, snowball fights, sled pulling, dragging the kids over the massive drifts. Sometimes it's fun to get to be a kid again but hopefully there will be school and work by Monday. We are still under a state of emergency and everyone is being asked to stay home. Thank goodness for TV.

Hi everyone,my loss this week is only 1lb,and I'm putting such a slow weight loss down to alcohol. It has to be slowing me down because I'm dowing everthing else the Adkins way. However as I have just come in from our local hostelry having had a chicken salad and 3 vodkas and diet 7up I have only myself to blame!!.

Scarlet, Glenellen and Carmel, 5 lbs between the three of you, thats great! Wish I could add to that number but I didnt lose anything, even though I was very good, and only drank wine once all week! Oh well, its ok, I will expect a decent loss this coming week! Or I will have to take my son's suggestion:
Him: Hey, ma, you know how to lose 10 lbs. of ugly fat really quick?
Me: No, honey, tell me.
Him: Cut off your head.
Keep up the good work!

Hi everyone,I'm feeling a bit low tonight because I seem to have gained 2lbs overnight. when I weighed myself yesterday morning I was delighted as I was 2lbs down, but this morning the scales showed me up 2lbs!!granted I got my period this morning also,so I am hopeing that in a few days time I will have a big woosh. That said right now tonight I feel like shite(is it ok to use such language?)as I am realy working so hard at this wol-no cheating ,yet my friend who is only on Atkins 4weeks cheated yesterday and today lost 2.5lbs.Since last Oct.I have only lost about 30lbs not a great amount realative to what needs to go .Boy are my hormones getting me down ,I need to start thinking a bit more positive instead of feeling sorry for myself-pleas forgive my moan.

Scarlet, wow! You are doing fantastic - breaking 200 is a huge deal, I know it was for me, anyway! Can't wait to hear when you lose that next pound.
Carmel - I bounce up and down a few pounds from day to day, that's just normal water weight fluctuation. Drink some extra water, don't get discouraged - I'm willing to bet that you'll be down even more pounds when your TOM is over.
HANG IN THERE.

Carmel, I always go up a bit when TOM is here then I usually have a little woosh after. I try to stay away from the scale for the first 3 days so I don't get discuraged. I know it's hard to keep positive with your hormones bouncing you around but you have been doing a fantastic job. I'm sure it is just water weight. Good luck and drink lots. I always find it hard to drink lots when I am retaining fluids but if you do it seems to go away faster. We are here any time you need to moan.

Thank you all so much for your support it does help.I reread some of my Atkins book when I went to bed last night and that helped me to stop getting in a panic and to see the the bigger picture. This weight I gained did not just appear over 5 months and if I want it to stay off for good and forever I have to give my poor body more time to realise I MEAN BUSINESS this time!!.

Hi all!
Well I was down to 197.5 this week but I am now back up to 199. I have been taking nyquil for the past 2 nights. I tried to do without but I have an awful head cold and I just couldn't sleep without it. I didn't read the ingredents but I am assuming it is full of sugar. I sure have been sick a lot since cutting the carbs.I wonder if it's related or if it's just from having 2 little boys who always seem to be dirty?
Anyway I am still down a pound and trying to be excited because I did break into onderland.Sorry if I rambled on but I'm feeling a little fuzzy. I am off to my bed while the little one is naping.
Sorry to hear about your wagon Glenellen but it's only one pound. Hop back up on that thing before it drives away. Good luck.
I hope everyone else had a good week.

Hi all, I lost a pound (finally) and am actually pretty happy about it, have a feeling I've broken a mini-stall now and will lose another 1 or 2 this coming week. Sounds like everyone is doing great, even you glenellen, because 1 lb. gained after falling off the wagon is nothing!
I seriously doubt I will reach my goal of 170 by St. Patrick's, but am still going to give it the old college try!

Hi,sorry I'm so late posting this week, but I went out at 5.30pm yesterday to meet some friends for 2 glasses of wine and surprise surprise! got home at 12.30am in top form, however I have to say am not feeling in such great form now ,serves me right,Atkins hangovers are truly from hell. How I did not cheat when my friends stopped for chips I will never know.Anyway I woke up at 6a.m. feeling awfull and went into the bathroom stepped on the scales and I had lost 3.5lbsgreat, but by 8a.m. when I had to get up I was back to the 2lbs loss I had yesterday morning so long story short my weight loss for this week is 2lbs.Not bad but no way will I make the ST.Patrick's day deadline as I have only lost 8lbs since Feb 13. But hey Glenellen way to go !!!!5lbs I can only dream of such a woosh ,keep up whatever it is you are doing.

Hi all, lost another pound this week, Hm, wonder if I can lose 5 more by Wednesday to reach my goal for this challenge...somehow I don't think so! But at least I am going in the right direction. I must say it is very frustrating to lose so slowly, but I know from this forum that the last 20 lbs. are always hard, so I am really not too discouraged. I haven't weighed 175 since before my last baby was born 15 yrs. ago, therefore will have that to celebrate on St. Patrick's day! I will check back on Wed., maybe I'll have a major woosh, miracles do happen!

Hi Lizwhip ,congrats on your weight loss.I to feel I will not make the challange on the 17,and I am feeling a bit down as the last challange I took part in I reached my target one week in advance.I was feeling so dejected yesterday that I reread my Adkins book and this morning restarted induction to see if it will kick-start my stall, and allready I'm missing my 2squares of l.c. chocolate, just goes to show how dependent I have become on my little fix!!..I hope to only have to do 1 week on induction and hopefully lose 4lbs.Dumbletore ,I agree we should do another challange, perhaps one that would take us up to MayDay?, let me know what everyone else thinks.I also agree with you about the lack of posts on this site,I thought a lot of Irish people had started Adkins and I hoped this would become a lively site ,but not so far .I now spend most of my time just browsing around the other sites for support and information.

Hi everyone and welcome Dumbletore, and a happy paddy's day to all, carmal may-day sounds good to me, well done everyone with your weight loss, there's no point being disappointed with one's self, we all lost weight and enjoyed it at the same time, scarlet you sound so in controll (good on you girl) and liz I hope that miracle happened for you, because a miracle happened me, that im still the same weight after the booze up I had all week, on our next challange lets all check in a couple of times a week, because like carmel im wandering around the other forums and its a shame no-one else is interested in this one, but maybe we will get more support next time

Beannacht Feile Padraig Diobh!!!.My final weigh in for this challange-I lost 10lbs, 4lbs short of my target.Oh well could be worse I suppose I could have gained that amount of weight ,which would have been a distinct possibility had I not started this wol.I am all up for another challange May Day with the weigh in on Friday as before.Do we need to post a new thread to start this off?.I started back on induction on Monday did not have one drink to wet ST.Pat's head!!so I am realy hopeing to speed up my weight loss,am only going to do it untill Friday ,then it's back to my few glasse's of white wine!.Glenellen I would love to chat a few times per week as I spend time each evening on the other forums because as you say this forum is so quite.Good luck to everone else on reaching their challanges.

Hi all and happy St. Paddy's Day.
I managed to reach my mini goal just this morning. I am very happy about it. I think checking in here has really kept me on track. I totally appreciate all your support. I hope you will allow me to stick around here for your next challenge because you all definately played a part in my losing at all.
I am not totally in control. As it is my birthday I am having a planned cheat today. :nono: Chinese food and cheesecake. I hope it will not hurt too much.
Congratulations on all of your loses. Every little bit counts.

Alas, no miracle this morning, but it's ok, I am pleased with my 5 lb. loss, even though it is only half of what I was shooting for. 10 lbs. was a little ambitious when I am not willing to give up my wine or lc beer! I don't exercise either, and now I think I might be ready to start, which is saying a lot for me. Hearing about how some of you are exercising away makes me think I can do it too (Carmel!). Hmm, does thinking about exercise help with weight loss? Hey, I just bent down and picked up a pencil, does that count?
I would be up for another challenge, any date that ya'll want to pick is fine with me. This is a nice group, and you are all trying so hard and succeeding that you really do keep me motivated! Happy St. Patrick's day!
