The book really, really stresses cutting down caffeine as much as you can. So I decided to cut it out completely, since I have a terrible sweet tooth and need as much help in that department as I can get. I was bad before - drinking 4-5 diet sodas a day, mostly in the morning/early afternoon. Now, I have a caffeine free diet pepsi w/ lunch and w/dinner, and that's it. After the initial shock of cutting out caffeine, I am sleeping SO much better and am not tired during the day anymore. The change is just amazing!

How about you - what changes have you seen as a result of this WOL other than the weight loss/inches lost?

1. I taught myself that I really don't need to "stuff" myself at meals!

2. Learning to be satisfied with a normal sized portion of food.

3. I have no cravings for sweets! (that's incredible, since I could rarely go a day without a candy bar!) Now, I can walk right by a chocolate long-john, without giving it a second look.

4. What really amazes me it the amount of BAD food I used to eat!

I am lovin' the 'BEACH'.....

I don't snack (gorge?) after dinner like I did before. In fact I haven't had an after dinner snack since I started on 1/9/04. I don't like fake sweets and I haven't had sugar, cookies, cake, pie, soda, etc. I'm at the point now where I really don't miss them.

I agree with Bill L in that I can't believe how much bad food I ate and how much food I ate every day period. Maybe I should have weighed more!

I thought I would miss pasta and potatos more, but, so far I've manged to only have a little pasta on one occassion and 1/2 of a potato on another.

My real down fall is caffeine...morning coffee and afternoon Latte's are something I haven't given up and probable won't. It dosen't seem to have effected my weight loss or cravings.

Day 22 and the world is GREAT! I'm completing my third week...I'm in Phase II but still eat as in Phase I most of the time. I've lost 12 pounds.
