Hi Everyone,

I am a devote Atkins fan but have been in a stall for awhile so I am giving SB a try. My dad started two weeks ago and lost 12.5lbs the first 2 weeks. I am not expecting such results but am hoping to blast off at leat 5 or so. I am sticking to the plan to a "T" but finding the prep time is killing me. Atkins is much easier and you can basically whip up a meal in no time. SB is more involed with food prep but so far so good. I feel like something is happening as my rings are doing the all mightly twirl and undergarments are getting looser. I may be nuts but I swear, the "joey pouch" seems to be a teeny tiny bit smaller. May be my imagination but who knows. I won't weigh till Monday so we shall see.

Any tips or ideas any cares to share. All is welcome!

Susan, How much weight have you lost so far?

I was also on Atkins, but after Christmas I couldn't get back in the groove, I decided to try SBD. I've been on it for 3 days.

Hanging in there! Lost 2lbs first week. Don't know what I have done this week as next weigh in is Monday. I may switch back to Atkins. I am having a hard time eating all the veggies on SB but I do like it.

Hi all.
I'm 47. A non-smoker as of 4 mos ago. Went from a size 2, 111lbs to a very snug 6 and 123lbs. Desperate to lose the weight. I've been a starch eater all my adult life and have never had a problem w/weight. HOWEVER, since quitting smoking, I can't seem to lose the weight. For Lent I gave up pasta, bread and potatoes and still didn't lose. Don't eat much meat. I'm at a lose. Any ideas????? I've heard you lose on the Atkins, but as soon as you stop you gain it right back! Any truth to that?

Thank you !!!!!

If you go off of any "diet" and return to your pre-diet ways, then you will gain the weight back. This is true of weight watchers, atkins, SBD, slimfast, LA weightloss, even gastric bypass surgery!

The best advice I can give to you is that you need to find a plan that YOU can stick with long term, like forever :) For some, that is WW, for others, it's SBD, and for others like me, it is Atkins. For you, it could be one of the above or something totally different. Just make sure you inform yourself fully about the one you might choose before hand, you would be surprised at the misconceptions about many of the plans out there, you should do the legwork yourself so you can make the best decision for you.

I wish I had done this years ago when I continually was going to WW and on low-fat, high-carb plans that I just gained weight on. If I was more openminded about Atkins then (I listened to the negative-hype), I wouldn't have 100+ lbs to lose now. I'm so happy that I have finally found something that I can stick with long term.

Good luck!
