I've been low carbing awhile and yes I have fallen off the wagon enough times that I brused my whole body :D One remarkable thing I noticed is nail biting. After about two weeks of low carbing I stop biting my nails... without even thinking about it. Then when I fall off the wagon, off go my nails as well. I didn't even notice this till recently at one of my games, a friend of mine said "Oh your nails are growing, you must be low carbing again!" I then realized this was true. I have anxiety so I think the reason my nails are not being bitten is because my anxiety goes down when I low carb. Has anyone else "lost" their bad habit due to low carbing? I'm curious. :)

I have this written above my desk. So many things in my life have turned out to be physiologically based since I started eating this way.

Hard to hide from your friends when you have a marker like that!

Oh, I WISH low carbing will help me lose my nail-biting habit. Somehow I think the habit is deeper ingrained than to be stopped without a lot of conscious effort, though. Sadly. :[

I've stopped biting to but my theory was that it is becuse they seem a lot harder now... making them harder to bite?

Might find it sold as Horsetail rush. Made my nails MUCH stronger. Could be some nutritional deficiency affecting nail biting too, but it's never been my problem. Sorry.

Is an herb with a very high amount of silica. People used to use it to scrub pots because it is abrasive. Grows at the edge of wet places. Sometimes you can buy silica as silaca (GNC brand) and sometimes you can pay more for it when it's called horsetail rush.

I am a terrible nail-biter too!!! it is an awful habit although so hard to break!!!

I find that I stop biting them when I am relaxed (normally on holiday) although I am very 'nervy' and can really suffer with anxiety ...

Am re-starting induction tomorrow so will monitor this and see if it has any effect on making me 'not' want to bite my nails!!!
