Anyone here break a 4 hour marathon and still maintain an LC diet? How do you do it? I thought you need to have lots of carbs to run and that speed for that distance?
My stats
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Rest Heart Rate (Avg): 44
MHR: 186
Body Fat (Measured by Omron hand-held BIA) 12.7%
Weight: 170
Height: 6 feet 0 inches
Triglycerides: 32
HDL: 94
LDL: 54
Waist: 33 inches

Best Maraton time: 3 hr 37 min 23 sec in Chicago this past October. Need to get under 3:15 for Feb 22 Marathon in Florida but suspect lack of carbs may hurt me. I have done very well on Atkins but sometimes feel like I have lower energy during long and 1/2 long runs.
Much thanks for your advice.

I am looking for the same answers to your questions as well. I am beginning to train for a fall marathon and worry that lc eating will harm my training, especially the long runs. I have run two marathons before low carbing, and carbo loading is intensely popular. Also, not sure how to add carbs without gaining additional weight.... let me know what you find out!!

If you live in Tampa why don't you see my LC Marathoning in action in 1.5 weeks when I do the Clearwater Marathon.

Any advice on the Pinellas trails? Are they flat?
I will be wearing a Chicago Cub hat during the Feb 22 race.
Hope you can come out and cheer
