I apologise if there is already a thread on this, but thought it would be great for us to list our favourite and our lowest carb finds in product range. I have not included the obvious low carb stuff, like Atkins products, etc.

let me start off with some of mine. I will update this list as I find more. Everything here is from Coles in Sydney:

Coles Italian and Italian Chilli sausages <1g per 100g
Peters Low Carb Ice Cream .. 3.9 per 100g
Hellmans Mayonaise, especially the Lime and Chilli .. 1.6g per 100g
Always Fresh Low Joule Gerkins .. 0.5 per 100g
Sanitarium Natural Smooth Peanut Butter .. 1.9g per 15g or 11.2 per 100g
Kraft Cream Cheese Spread .. 1.7g per 100g
Cardini's Caesar Salad Dressing .. 2.1g per 100g
Dairy Farmers Thickened Cream .. 2.9g per 100ml
Cottees Diet Jelly .. 0.0g per 100ml
IXL Strawberry Diet Jam .. 4.9g per 100g
Samoa Coconut Cream .. 0.6g per 100ml
Asia at Home Laksa Paste .. 2.7g per serve, or 6.1g per 100g
Paul Nachos Cheese Dip (will have to check the carb value, about 4 per 100g)
Gina's diced Roma Tomatoes .. 4.2g per 100g

Hi Luscious,

Fantastic idea!! Dont know if its been done either, but I'm sure it will be of great benefit to many many people. :agree: :agree:

Two that come straight to mind are:

Paul Newmans Own Caesar Dressing: 2.5g per 100ml.
Paul Newmans Own Classic Salad Dressing: less than 1g per 100ml.

They are a daily addition in my menu!!

I will be sure to post any others as they come to mind.

Again a great idea. Hope all the Aussies and NZers get behind this great thread.

Cheers Cheley.

I’ve been building a little list of my own for a while now so here’s my contribution. I’ve added the name of the stores I purchased from so some will only apply to Perth low carbers.

Firstly my absolute favourite low carb product at the moment is the new Bodhis low-carbo flatbrot (pita) bread. I have half of one for lunch every day filled with bacon, lettuce and cheese and absolutely love it. They are probably not suitable for those on induction as each flatbrot is around 15g carbs but as I only have half, the 7 carbs are worth it to me. I’ve found that any bread product lower in carbs than 7g per serve tastes like c**p to me (only my opinion here). Bodhis is a Perth bread company and their products can be found at health food stores and places like Herdsman Fresh, Claremont Fresh etc. I don’t know if you can get them in the Eastern states. They also make a low carb loaf that I’m not keen on and low carb dinner rolls which I haven’t tried yet.

Asia at home red curry paste-concentrate 4.7g per 100g - Woolworths
Swanson clear chicken broth 0.3g per 100ml - Woolworths
Ayam coconut milk less than 1g per 100g - Woolworths
Ayam teriyaki sauce 4.7g per 100g - Woolworths
Cornwell’s soy sauce 4.2g per 100ml - Farmer Jacks
Gourmet Thins with Bran & Rye 4.5g per crispbread - Herdsman Fresh
Delverde tinned tomatoes 3g per 100g - Re Store
Droste Dutch cocoa powder 12.4g carbs per 100g - David Jones food hall and Claremont Fresh

Kennedy & Wilson 99% cocoa, unsweetened cooking chocolate. I’ve checked with the local supplier and it has no sugar in the ingredients list but I don’t know what the carb count is…I’m guessing around 14g/100g. I’ve found this chocolate at the Re Store, Claremont Fresh and ‘The Grocer’ in Claremont.

Unsweetened cooking chocolate (99.5% cocoa) can also be found at ‘The Essential Ingredient’ in Subiaco. They also sell several types of unsweetened cocoa powder as well.

As far as I know you can't get it in Perth......not a big enough demand yet.

* Country Life Perfomax Bread (about 7g or 10g per slice depending on if you think the fibre is pre-deducted..)
* Jalna wholemilk Biodynamic Yoghourt (6g per 100g) - * Freedom Foods breakfast cereals - I like the 'gluten free' one most - your looking at about 12g for a decent serve, and they are all very low GI. (avaliable from health food shops... you may need to shop around.. they have a website)
* Australia's Own Malt Free Natural Soy Milk - it's sugar free for 3.6g per 100ml (it's also long life.. good if you use it in moderation)

Shopping yesterday discovered:

Coles Farmland brand - Italian Roma Tomatoes Diced only 2.1g carbs per100g. Very handy, very tasty... for tinned tomatoes!

Zedgirl, the Cornwell soy sauce you listed, available at "Farmer Jacks", is that a supermarket or a specialty store/health store. Really interested in getting a lower soy sauce, as the lowest I have found is Kikkoman less salt Soy sauce at 11g carbs per 100mls. I love Soy sauce!:yum: Thanks.

Cheers Cheley.

Farmer Jacks is an independent supermarket in Perth. It’s amazing how many different products you can find in the smaller independently owned shops. The only downside for the Cornwell’s product is that I can only get it in 200ml bottles so I buy several at a time….costs more but is worth the carb savings. There are even lower soy sauces out there but I’m yet to find them.

Four Seasons soy sauce - 3.1g per 100g
Masterfoods soy sauce - 4.2g per 100g
Cornwell’s soy sauce - 4.4g per 100ml

Thanks for the information....I will have to venture out and check out the smaller supermarkets, instead of always Coles! :agree:

What a great idea!!
I have found the Freedom cereal(low GI) at Woolies in Marrickville metro in Sydney. But cannot locate any unsweetened cooking chocolate anywhere :( ! Sydneysiders-HELP! Have found SF Belgium eating chocolate at Broadway shopping centre in a chocolate stall in an aisle near Crazy Peices. With different fillings(Amaretto Cream etc.)...very yummy! Net effective carbs = 4 gms in a 50gm bar!(the rest is sugar alcohols)

Btw I thought I read Peter's low carb ice-cream had 18gm/100gms....is this a different variety?

Peters low carb ice cream, in the green tub, has 3.9 grams carbs per 100g (which I think is 2 ice cream scoops??)

Try 'The Essential Ingredient' in Camperdown for unsweetened cooking chocolate. The Perth franchise has it so yours should too.

You can buy Empower products at the Organic Oasis at Forest Glen Sunshine Coast if you are in QLD also they have keto bars. (Inland from Mooloolaba)

Fibrex cereal 2.2 for 1/2 cup serve. I put boiling water on it and it swells then add cream and sometimes blueberries or strawberries and a sweetener if you like.
Chocolate rush muffins 2.2 per muffin
Almond Innocence Biscuits 1.1 per biscuit

Keto bars are 8 carb per bar.

Delia,

Dont know if they were off, or ment to be refridgerated straight after cooking...but god they were disgusting!!!

Anyone had similar experience?

Cheers Cheley.

Most low carb baked goods need to be kept in the fridge. I keep my muffins, almond meal, linseed meal and porridge mix in the fridge as well. I only made the Choc Rush muffins a couple of times and they were fine. I use my own recipe now……it’s much cheaper.

Now that I know, I will keep all LC in the fridge!!

My poor son (only 6) opened up the muffin tin and said, "They are off Mum", but I thought he meant he didnt like them. I said, "Yeah their not great, tasted better". Then I smelt them and they would have made your hair curl!!!

Havent been to adventurous with baking. Must have a go. Cant be any worse than those!!!

I use the muffins all the time but as soon as they are cold I wrap and freeze them. I have had a couple in the fridge for a couple of day and been ok.
I make a icing of softened (micro)cream cheese cocoa sweetner and spread on them.
I love them.
Sometimes I put a peice of Low cadbury choc or some blueberries in them.

In Myers Queens Street Brisbane just before Christmas I brought Low carb chocolate truffles..$6.99 for a box of 9.
I have not opened them till last week and they were so good. Just .1 for each one.
I am wondering if they still have them available.

Cruskits Rye have only 3g per bickie, and they're huge. Top 'em with tuna, mayo and salsa and you have a fantastic lunch that makes a nice change from salad.
