Hi All,

I have been on a LC program since November and have lost 45 lbs, but have been stuck on a plateau for the past two months. As I am still way, repeat way above a goal I have set for myself I am going back onto induction diet (< 20g per day.

When Nutrition Facts say Tot. Carb. 3g and dietary fiber 2g do you consider this to be 1g Car. per serving. I am looking at a bag on frozen cauliflower.
It must be a low carb product as I have been eating a lot of it on my program, most recently adding in spinach.

Hi Alan. It depends on what program you're on. Atkins doesn't allow for fiber deduction, however, Protein Power does.

Say, if you want to add spinach to your diet try it with a little bit of nutmeg, just a sprinkle. I just found this little tip and it makes all of the difference in the world as to how I feel about spinach. Hope you enjoy it too. :agree:

If you're doing Atkins it will be 1g net carb, Atkins does allow fiber deductions.

agreed.. on Atkins, you would deduct the fiber AND any sugar alcohols from the carb total for a net carb amount

atkins and protein power both use "net carbs" which is total-fiber. atkins allows nets on sugar alcohols but i'm in disagreement with that. based on the glycemic indexes of many of the sugar alcohols there are only 2 sa's out there that have zero impact on blood sugars. erythritol is one of them (and i can't remember the second one.. :( ). so i stay away from sa's anyway since they do spike my blood sugars.
