I was in ShopRite last night & saw Ian's Low Carb Pizza. 2 varieties, 4-cheese & spinach & cheese, which have 5 & 4 netcarbs per serving, respectively. Only problem is, they're teenie personal-sized pizzas, and a serving is 1/3 of the pie!

Anyone would eat the whole thing, bringing the counts up to 15 & 12 net carbs, which I guess isn't too bad if you're on pre-maintenance or maintenance.

I've never had them, but since they were on sale (2.49 each) I bought 3 of each, just in case they're good!

Also at ShopRite were frozen low carb dinners - I think the brand name was "Michael's" but I could be mistaken. They were mostly a meat with 2 veggie sides. They weren't TOO expensive (regular price 6.99, on sale for 3.99) but the total carb counts were kind of high, all the way up to 23 for eggplant lasagna, so I didn't buy any of those. Really nice packaging, though!

It is fun and exciting to find all of these new products popping up, making lc living more convenient with ready made foods. You found the sneaky part in the nutritional info on the pizza. Manufacturers are jumping on the lc bandwagon and not all of the products suddenly being advertised as lc ARE lc. Unreasonable portion sizes to give a small carb count are one of the tricks we have to watch our for. Really checking those numbers and the ingredients is another. If refined sugar and grains are tiggers for someone, they really have to be careful to read the ingredients regardless of the carb count.

i just had the spinach & cheese for lunch i cut into 3rd and kept 2 pizzas for another day and it was quite good if you are craving pizza. i had it with mashed cauliflower from our albertsons deli from a meal i had last night and it was super, and now im going to finish cleaning the upstairs. i think its kind of spendy for having every day but maybe nice to have around in case you need a quick meal or have a severe craving.
