Glad we got this forum opened up - - thanks ADMINISTRATORS!! :)

I guess I should buy the book and figure out if I can do this or not. Problem is I have been so tuned into doing Atkins that I don't know if I can change to South Beach and yet be successful BUT I do want to add some more foods into my daily life.

So ... anyone can give me South Beach in a nutshell :D Please.

hi Yvonne,

The condensed version of South Beach can be found at prevention.com. Prevention is owned by Rodale, who published South Beach, so you can be assured that the information there is accurate and "official". In fact, most of the articles and Q & A sections have been written by, or at least endorsed by Dr. Agatston himself.

Here are some links to the different sections ..• The Basic Program (http://www.prevention.com/cda/feature2002/0,4780,s1-5345,00.html) with food lists, sample menus

• South Beach Philosophy (http://www.prevention.com/cda/feature2002/0,4780,s1-5023,00.html)

• Frequently Asked Questions (http://www.prevention.com/cda/feature2002/0,4780,s1-6040,00.html)

This will give you a basic idea. The book of course has more extensive menus and recipes and shopping guide, eating out in restaurants etc.

Hope that's helpful :rose:
