Anyone else suffering from this problem?

Known as the "if you don't have to pay for it it has no carbs" syndrome, it's prevalent in offices around the Christmas season when people bring in masses of mince pies, cake and chocolates for the delight of their colleagues :D

Yes, temptation indeed looms doubly large when you don't have to give out your hard-earned cash in order to indulge :yay:

So what protective mechanisms do you employ to get you over this dangerous period? ;)

I always make sure I have alternatives around. I am also lucky in that 50% of the office is on some diet or another with 1 of them LCing.

It should be said that I work in a mall where there is a natural health store and a GNC that I can run too at any time.

Aside from that, I have become very good at turning my thoughts to things other than the tempting food before me!

Hi Sylvia

I know where you are coming from. I must admit it does not worry me as I have got a box of chocolates and some chocolate logs in my desk draw for others - left overs from the Brownies. In fact with the cooking I did this weekend I now have my own biscuits and as I type this I am eating a cheese scone. Feels amazing after so long. On the whole people know not to offer me food and I can't say I really miss it. I think this year the only thing I'm going to overdose on carb wise is Christmas pudding. The calories may be high, but don't think, apart from that, my carbs will be significantly higher.
