any way I can knock up a sauce for some fish, like the ones u make in a fish pie???? I have my bro down for the weekend and he's financee, and she is a veggie, and as Im not a 100% yet I'd like to chuck it all in and just serve theres with mash and perhaps add extra veg with mine!
I am looking at some white wine going in, with some peas (not many) and baby corn, some cream and onions and mushrooms etc.. but I haven't got a clue how to start it all, I am not a great cook, however I do try,
any ideas greatly appreciated
ta very much xx

its ok I have it sussed, im going to bake different types of fish..ie. prawns, haddock, cod, mussels etc..whilst that is cooking fry the onions and garlic and mushrooms, add fish stock and wine, boil and rapidly reduce and add the cream chuck in some cooked baby corn and peas and chopped up hard boiled eggs, flake the fish and mix it all up, then turn out into an oven proof dish and smother it with mashed swede (with butter)and pepper top with cheese and paprika and bake until cheese has melted............woo thats just come to me off the top of my head! now i need to copy paste and print and stick it on my kitchen cupboard for tomorrow!!!

Sounds good to me!

Use double cream if you're cooking it - single will split.

I love the sound of that Twiglet - as I'm atkins I'd skip the peas and sweetcorn. Now I must copy it and save it for when I have guests.

Enjoy! Hope the visitors are appreciative.

well I did the 'pie' and it was very nice, although I got abit keen and put the cream in to late (already added veg) and should have reduced it a bit, I also found the prawns in the fridge later and forgot to use them !!!! but i was under the weather and next time i do this meal I will totally concentrate!!!! (perhaps have a glass of wine first)

try using hellmans or similar mayonaise, bung all the fish onion etc in a dish cover with mayonaise then cheese, then bake - less carbs and yummy!!
