...on a daily basis? I'm thinking of adding 1 hard boiled egg
to my diet every day for a source of protein.

One whole egg?!?!? Aren't you afraid of the added cholesterol?

If all you want is protein, just eat the white. It is only 1
egg, though, and most of us don't need to worry much about
dietary cholesterol, as the majority of folks don't absorb
enough from food for it to make much difference.

Wow. Thrill seeking daredevil, aren't you?

Please explain why you believe eggs are bad for you, requiring
great care and only a little bit.

Please explain why you believe eggs are a better source of
protein than many other sources. A single large hard-boiled
egg has 6.29 grams protein and 5.31 grams fat. It's as good a
source of fat as protein, and one egg has a pretty tiny amount
of protein.

I eat 4 to 12 whole eggs a day when I'm dieting. I'm not too
concerned about protein intake. I try to get my required
amount (give or take), eat some veggies and try to keep the
carbs as low as possible.

Otherwise I just stick to my 3 to 4 eggs in the morning with
sausage. Paranoia about fat and cholesterol will destroy ya.

I have a 3 egg omelet almost every morning. Usually with a
creamy garlic dressing and tomato (salsa or similar)

A whole extra 6 grams of protein daily will make all the
difference. Go for it, bro. Git hyooge.

Fool that I am, I'll assume that this is a genuine question.

My Simple Golden Protein Rule :

If it's had a face at some point in its career, it's a decent
source of protein. (Clocks, cliffs etc excepted).

So...meat. Animal muscle tissue, cooked to your liking. Beef,
fish, chicken, pork, lamb. Also - milk, eggs. You can draw
faces on the eggs if you like so that the Simple Golden
Protein Rule applies. The milk is harder to draw on. AND -
nuts, beans. And, of course, whey protein.

You should do a quick search through this newsgroup for "daily
protein requirements".
