I'm following the sugar thread below, and wonder if anyone has tried sweetening with fructose....not the high fructose corn syrup crap, but real powdered fructose.....in the glycemic Index (Glucose Revolution books) it talks about how fructose has 20% of the blood sugar effects as equal amounts of sugar, and because fructose is metabloized in the liver it does not require an insulin response to be used by the body. if this is true, wouldn't fructose be a reasonable sugar alternative.....honey is 1/2 fructose and 1/2 glucose. maybe honey would work too? Just a thought.....

Do you guys eat sugar free jello? is the starch and aspartme a problem?

Hi Mac.

If you click on the "Truth about low carb sweeteners info" over to the right, under "quick links", there's a blurb on fructose. Here (http://www.mercola.com/2001/dec/12/syndrome_x.htm) is another article about it.

I occasionally eat SF jello, when I'm not too lazy to make it. ;) I drink diet soda, too. I don't worry about the aspartame, but many people do. It's a YMMV thing.

HTH.
