How did you know you were pregnant? I mean, I know all the usual signs (since I've been pregnant before) ... but ... since I started LCing my period cycles have been getting shorter and shorter and then this month ... no sign of AF at all! I know it's normal for periods to become irregular, but since DH and I didn't use condoms this month ("coitus interruptus" was our BC *blushes*) ... I mean I don't feel like I'm going to get my period! Even while LCing, I always could "tell" when my period was going to come - "down there" feels different when I'm going to get my period, I crave chocolate, and I always get these wierd cramp things. This month ... NOTHING!!!!!!!!! Something tells me that I'm not going to get my period ... so back to my original question ... how did you know you were pregnant while LCing? Since I don't know when I'll be 'late' since my period is irregular (although the cycles are shorter than 28 days and here I am on day 28 and no sign of AF) ... when would be a good time to take a HPT? How long should I wait?!

I chart my cycles by taking my temp every morning before waking and by checking on my cervical mucous, though for me the temp is the most accurate.

Once I ovulate (if I do), then I just count days of the sustained high temp. I have a short luteal phase so usually by 10 days past ovulation I get AF. Most women are between 10 and 14 and if it reaches 18 then you pretty much are guaranteed to be pg.

If the temp never rises I know I didn't ovulate that cycle so there's no chance of getting pg, and I just wait patiently for AF to arrive.

Well, I'm pretty sure I've ovulated ... I had the mucuous thing going on, and I've never taken my temp "down there", but, I'm pretty sure I ovulated. That being said ... how long should I wait for AF to come before testing?!

Oh, I take my temp orally! It usually rises a whole degree after ovulation and stays that way until AF.

If you know the day you ovulated, then wait about 12 days or so before you test. Some women don't get a + until 10 and others not until 14 or 16.

If you're not sure when you ovulated, then I'd just test when you'd expect AF (based on your last cycle or two). If it's neg, just wait a few more days and test again.

LOL, *insert foot in mouth*, totally thought you meant you took your temp down south ;) . Boy do I feel dumb! I'm not sure which day I ovulated, I don't keep track since we weren't TTC, but I think I'll wait at least two weeks until I test. Last time I got pregnant, I was three weeks pregnant when I took my first test and it was BFN even though I was actually pregnant. Thanks so much for all of your help!

LOL it's okay! Actually there is a provision for taking your temp "down there" but it's much easier orally ;) Actually you can take your temp any variety of ways, just as long as you're consistent.

Your two week idea sounds like a good one to me. Waiting is always a killer, though!
