I've been here before, briefly, but thought I'd 'reintroduce' myself.

I'm 48 years old, been yo-yo dieting most of my life, since about 13 years old. Anyone else remember 'Sego'????? The 'Slimfast' of it's time :P

Anyway, I've been on and off Low Carb for a few years now, have type 11 diabeties, high blood pressure, asthma, beginnings of joint problems, some foot problems a lot of which come from carrying around so much weight for so many years.

I remember those 'grey sheets', the old 1500 calorie diet they used to hand out-remember being given it as a teenager, and trying to stick with THAT and there was no WAY it was going to work, now I know why. FILLED with carbs.

Anyway, I've been exercising now for a couple weeks or so, and while some days are better than other's Low Carb wise, I'm sticking with it pretty well, can feel that I'm thinner, and can WALK more easily now.

The walking is a big thing, as I had sugery on a partially torn achilles tendon back in March, and was in a cast for about 8 weeks. It was SO incredibly hard to move, because of my weight I had to have a motorized wheelchair, and could not even walk with crutches.

It's been a gradual thing for me, getting to walk normally again-yesterday I walked 15 minutes at the park, felt so GOOD! :yay:

So that's my 'indroduction',

Welcome! I know of which you speak about walking. Walking is a good part of life that far too many take for granted. You look like you are doing well!

On again, off again is really dangerous. Glad you
made it back. Drink the water, follow the plan and
never, never cheat.

Welcome back...slow and easy wins the race...it is nice to lose quickly in the beginning, but then reality hits, and it slows down, but I say that any loss is a loss...
I hope you get lots from the forum...it is a great place for support...and wisdom...
