For those that have been losing for more than a month, what is your average weight loss per month?

I started out losing about 6 lbs per month, but have slowed to between 2 - 4 lbs per month since March (and it's usually closer to 2 than 4). It's a little frustrating when I calculate how long it will take me to get to my ideal weight, but it is also good to see that my body weight isn't zinging around all over the place. Slow, steady loss and steady maint. doesn't sound that bad.

My average weight loss has decreased over the 13 months I have been doing CAD. But, for about the last 4 - 5 months it has levelled off at about 1.75lbs per week. I can live with that :)

Last month was the first month I know for sure, since it was last month that I bought a scale that could weigh me. I lost 13.5 pounds the first month using the scale. So far this month, I'm a little behind where I should be to keep up the same rate, but close.

I lost 16 pounds the first 4 weeks. In the last 6 weeks I have lost 13 pounds, so I guess that is about 9 lbs. a month. I would love to continue at that pace but my guess is that it will slow to 4 lbs a month soon. Mike

I've been losing an average of 10.42# a month over the year I've been on Atkins. Knock wood, it seems to be continuing. :)

This was a great poll! It made me feel better seeing all those other slower losers with me, with about 4lbs a month!

Good to see others going for it too! :)

I started out pretty fast...and one month lost over 10 pounds, but in the past two months, only a couple of pounds total...with last month being the slowest...only lost 1 pound the whole month.
I have, however, increased my carbs...had been keeping them very low...10-15 since the beginning, but was convinced to increase them a bit...and now, in a week of higher carbs...~25...I have come down about 2.5 pounds...so I guess I was starving my body...it needed a bit more.
I amhappy with that...hope it keeps up.

One of the reasons I put the 20 and higher was that I figured no one would vote for it and it would help us all to realize that no one loses that fast. Of course, if someone does vote for it, I'm sure we all want their secrets.

I have felt that my weight loss was really slowing down, but when I wrote my statistics I realized I was averaging 8 pounds a month after 4 months. I was so startled I put it in my signature, as you can see below. To sustain the average for this month I need to be around 214 fairly soon...could happen as I have seen that weight a few times already on my scale.

I usually lose somewhere around 6-10 pounds a month.

I lost sixteen pounds in my first two weeks. Then it took me three more months to lose thirty more pounds.
Then I fell off, for three months after my wedding and gained about twenty-five. So I know that My average going both ways is unfortunately about 10lbs a month.
Wish I hadn't need to learn that the hard way! :P

I started out incredibly slow...like NO weight loss for the first month...then three lbs.....then NO loss until week 9. Apparently I discovered a number of factors causing me to be metabolically resistant, and it looks like candida albicans might have been the BIG culprit!

Rate of weight loss should pick up once the yeast overgrowth is under control...it's already beginning to show a difference!! :D

today is 13 weeks for me. 52 pounds down by today's weigh in. That works out to 4 pounds a week, around 16 per month. But it is slowing noticeably.

I picked the 10-14 lbs, as I am averaging 14.75 pounds a month. Today is exactly 4 months since I started this WOE, and I am down 59 pounds.

My last post in this thread was in October of last year. In February of this year I added calorie counting to my low carb plan. My average loss from Feb 2 - today is 2.45 lbs/week for about 10 lbs per month.

Average is 7 pounds per month but I had one month where all I did was play with the same three pounds. Then went low carb low cal and for a month lost like crazy, then two weeks of basically nothing (introduced strawberries and low carb yogurt) and in the last 6 days have ignored calories, focused on keeping fat% at 70+ and have lost 2.7 pounds. Can't be sure it will keep doing it as I think it could be the change rather than what I am doing (you know, shake things up a little up or down!) but I will still be watching it and tweeking as I go along.

Great thread!

I seem to be losing about three pounds a month. I sure wish it was between five and ten, but for now, that is it. But it is going down, and that is what is important. Stephie :)

My average for this whole journey (the 8 months since starting) is 10 per month, so I just squeaked into that category. But, that's averaging out the higher weight loss in the beginning. For the last 4 months, I've average 7.5 lbs per month.

slowly raising hand voting for this one........ but I voted for 15-19 cause I well, I didn't want to be the only one voting for 20 or higher. And it was only April when I lost 30 pounds. I've slowed down since.

My goal is 10 lbs a month, and I am always within a pound or so of that.I have to really watch my calories now too, plus I walk a few miles daily.

I keep a weekly chart, and have a column to compute how much I've lost the last 4 weeks. It's always between 5 and 10 pounds, with the average probably around 8 -- I suspect if I weighed once a month, it would average out to 8 to 9 pounds a month. I'd rather it were up to 10, but I can live with this -- and it's nice to see, based on the poll, that I'm right in there with a whole lot of other people!

I've lost an average of 7-8 lbs. a month in the 8 months that I have been low-carbing. However, that's an average over time. The past few months, I've lost 4 to 5 pounds per month pretty consistently.

I average around 5 to 8 lbs a month at this point in my journey ( a little over a year). I am happy with 1 lb a week, that is my goal. Then I can be pleasantly surprised when it is more.

I lose about 5-7 a month now, but I am getting pretty close to goal so it may slow down even more soon.

I lost 25 pounds the first month, then the losses became less steady. I seems to stall for a bit, then I get a good drop.

Over all average is 8.6 pounds per month. Not too bad.

I average about three pounds a week. Sometimes a little less, and sometimes a little more. I have lost 33 pounds in 12 weeks, so that is about 11 pounds a month.

I'm losing about 1lb per week - 4-5 lbs per month. This just seems slow to me, but it looks like it might be average.

I've only been going for 5 months, the average is about 12lbs per month, but nearly 40 of the 60 I've lost were in the first two months.

My initial weight loss was huge. But after the first couple of weeks I have been steady at around 12-15lbs a month. My goal from the beggining was 2lbs a week or 8 a month, so I am really happy with the rate of loss so far :D

In the 2 months I have been LCing - my average is 10.5 pounds a month...the first month I lost 13 pounds... the second month I lost 8... so far this month I have lost 2, but I still have time to go to lose more by the end of my third month.
