I have been upping my excersice including playing soccer and I am very sore the next day or two after playing. I play goalie and dive for the ball which used muscles I haven't used in awhile. I don't want to quit, but sore muscles for the 1-3 days after playing is hard to deal with. I checked with my doctor and he is okay and encouraging of me.

Normally I take Ibuprofen, but have noticed that I gain weight on it. I took three ibuprofen yesterday and gained 2 pounds. Two weeks ago I gained 4 pounds in 4 days. The weight doesn't come off quickly either. Doreen explained why it happens in an earlier post that was very helpful.

I have a couple of questions;
1. If you take Ibuprofen is the weight gain just water retention that will go away...like it is masking weight loss or does it really slow down weight loss. I'm okay with going up if I go down just as fast.

2.Is asprin better by not effecting your metabolism?

Any other suggestions?

Are you taking any sport supplements or multivitamins, etc? What is the dose that you take?

Water intake? Salt intake? Also, what is your diet consist of?

Just want to get an accurate picture... :cool:

L-glutamine is what you want. It is a non-essiential ammino acid that is fuel for your muscles. Weight lifters use it after lifting to avoid sore muscles the next day. I buy mine at http://iherb.com the cheapest way to get it is the kilo of powder. Take 3-5 grams mixed in water or juice after playing and you'll be amazed at how you feel. Ibuprofen can cause lots of problem if continued use over a long period of time. Your body already makes it's own l-glutamine, you're just giving it more!
