Ok, stay at home mother of 2 and student. Bought the Protein Power book looking for a high protein/low carb helpful guide to changing my diet. I haven't started yet due to my hectic schedule. My son's 2nd birthday is next month and I would like to have pictures taken this year, so hopefully this change of diet will help. Anyone who has similar profile or with any helpful tips for me, please. Advice is welcome, especially those with children and who have to alter many of the low carb recipes for their kids meals. Thanks.

welcome maile99!:D i was a stay at home mom of 3 for 14 years. it can be very challenging! i don't think you have to change your children's diet much! they'll continue to drink milk, eat bread and potatoes. you just won't. maybe for the first few weeks don't cook any potatoes or rice. after a few weeks it won't bother you at all. the rest of the diet is so healthy for them. there's very little additives in most of the foods that we eat! i'm sure you'll do really, really well!:D

Welcome to the forum Maile!

I saw in your profile that you are in the Zone. Have you thought of having your kids in the Zone too?

Here are two articles from the Zone website relating to children.

Thanks for the links, I'll check those out. I have already started trying to eliminate the breads and what not, but my daughter loves rice and when I make chicken and veggies, she won't eat. I think I need to come up with some different meal ideas. Thanks for the advice and support.
