Grossly inordinate costing of Omega enriched eggs

I have sat down and calculated the cost difference to the
consumer of Omega 3 enriched eggs as opposed to regular eggs
and find that the cost per mg of omega 3 in these eggs is
disproportionately high.

What I find is that based on the price of Omega enriched eggs
vs regular eggs, the consumer is paying in effect 40 times
more per mg than in omega 3 fish oil capsules.

I am convinced this is an attempt by egg marketers to take
advantage of the consumer's ignorance and desire to eat
healthily.

Ignorance is the name of the game in almost all marketing
these days. A brief exposure to TV ads is proof enough.

Grossly inordinate is an overstatement. At Costco, 18 brown
extra large Wilcox Washington Omega 3 eggs costs 1.99. The two
dozen pack of regular white extra large eggs costs around 1.80
if I recall correctly.

I haven't got a clue, it doesn't bother me. He feeds them some
commercial layer food, BTW.
