I visited a local farmers' market near me this morning. One stall had Cumberland style sausage and had fried some up for customers to try. It is the best real sausage I've tried since I left Belarus! A bit pricey at 5 pounds a yard but I think it's worth it. No rusk, free range pork and spices and that's it. And the pork is organic. I'm told they do mail order: www.cumberland-sausage.net

Second find was at my local Lidl supermarket. Dulano brat-Wurst Germaqn style spiced sausages. Only 0.5g carbs per 100 - no rusk. Frozen, 2.59 for 10 (900g). They also have other low carb Frankfurter style sausages in jars. A also saw kitchen scales that would weigh in divisions of 1 gram. In addition to this the veggies are all half price this week!

And Lidl have the lowest carb yoghurts I have found, for about 90p for 8. How do they do it?
Their veg seem fantastic, particularly the tomatoes 'on the vine' (stupid name) which smell of tomato plants.
I also stock up on smoked salmon and cheese slices.
Sadly the nearest Lidl is about 8 miles away.

How are you doing back in the UK?

No, the one on Tynemouth metro station. The same people seem to do the rounds though.

Lidl is fantastic for us. They even do premium pork sausages that have something like only 1.6g carbs per 100g. Gorgeous things.

I love their frozen bratwurst as well. Most of their sausages/frankfurters are low carb as Germans don't tend to like all that filler in their foods and a LOT of Lidl's stuff is German.
