Hi there Armygirl,

It's impossible to say if you are doing anything wrong unless we know exactly what you are eating. ;) So how about posting some of your regular menus?

Some thoughts:

-Are you eating enough? At least 10 times your weight in calories?
-Are you eating too much? Remember Dr A says to eat until we are "full but not stuffed."
-Are you drinking plenty of water? At least 2 litres/64 oz PLUS another 250 mL/8 oz for every 25 pounds you need to lose?
-Are you eating "frankenfoods" such as low carb bars, low carb candy?

Antidepressants can slow some people down, as can thyroid problems. But that doesn't mean you can't lose. It might just mean you will lose more slowly. You have already lost 3 pounds in 3 weeks. Try to look at it long term. For weight loss to be permanent, eating low carb does need to be a way of life. Imagine where'll you'll be in 6 months time if you keep losing 1 pound a week!

All the best to you!

I am not losing as fast as I did a couple of weeks ago either. I get frustrated when the weight loss slows. But I am sticking to Atkins as best I can. At least I'm not drinking Pepsi by the 2L bottle daily any more and I gave up ice creams and sherberts. But I do know the agony of not losing the way you would like. Effexor will slow your metabolism down. I am a psych nursing instructor and familiar with many of the meds. Keep the faith and try to exercise if you can. I am limited as to the amount of exercisse I can do due to fibromyalgia and chronic pain. I have to pace now or pay later, so it's a really slow process. Frankly I am sick to death of meats. I have gone thru so many and all I really want is a huge plate of veggies. Strange huh?
soft hugs,

HELP!

I have been on Atkins for two weeks and I have only lost two pounds. At least that is two less than before. I have also lost .50 inch off my butt and I can now run a mile in 8.5 minutes and I have just added another mile. This is after a time when walking to the mailbox would have been hard.
All this in two weeks! :dazzle::Party:

I know I am doing better, but the scale is frustrating!

Yes I do indulge in the frankinfoods. But, I am a single mother, with two very active teens. Sometimes I just don't have a choice. I would rather grab a low carb bar from Food lion that is near the football field then go back to the other junk.

Anyway, to all you other turtles. Your not alone! :-) I wish it would be quicker, but it took 8 years to put on the additional 50 pounds so I guess it will be hard to take it off. Life is so hard sometimes! :-)
